I am trying to choose a race Sylvari, Norn or Charr for Engi need advice of how good Charr story is.

Speaking from personal experience the combination of Engineer + Iron Legion is very fitting (Although perhaps a bit stereotypical), I did all three storylines, loved all three of them.
Ash Legion is a personal fave and, if it still needed to be mentioned, yes I’m biased. Charr being my favorite race followed closely by the Norn.

Charr probably have the best writing on personal story and characters. All legions are good in this regard.

Out of all the races storyline I played through. I’ll have to say the Charr’s storyline kept me entertained and especially the opening intro for them. Glorious intro.

Charr have two issues : Armor clipping & lack of information about their non-human traits (pregnancy, growing rate, Fahrar step, Fahrar teaching, wages).
But they’re worth it.

The early story missions (1-28) for charr are probably some of the best in the game, they blow the other races out of the water imo.

The biggest problem with the charr storyline is you don’t see most of the characters again. Suspect the other races are similar however.

It’s because after the lvl 30 you leave racial storyline for order storyline. It’s a reverse tree.

Racial storyline (5 races / 2×3 choices) [1 – 20]
Racial to Order storyline (5 races) [20 – 30]
Order storyline (3 order) [30 – 50]
Pact creation storyline [50 – 60]
Pact storyline [60 – 80]

and everywhere that 1 annoying green sylvari…

Better than everywhere that 1 annoying scarlet sylvari.

Some great moments in Charr storyline. My favorite is in the “honorable soldier” father storyline when you get to fight ghost cows in Diessa plateau with a pair of scrap hunters!

Heh, I always liked the third option I believe, “honorless gladium”. Also, “sorcerous shaman”. Story for Charr is by far better written and more entertaining than whole Living Story so far

Better written, I can argue with. Better delivered, oh yeah. The Living Story has been delivered pretty badly thus far, though they are improving.

Still, Charr personal story has fantastic writing and delivery.

Although I prefer my Charrs to be a bit Sylvari-alike (I mean personality), Anet did Charr’s story pretty well and really good for RP. Asura seems irrational a bit and Sylvari’s idioms are too boring.

Some ppl, further in game, tend to use the colours of they’re order, Vigil, whispers or Priory…

Charr players usually stay true to they’re legion colours Blood, Iron or Ash.

This tells you a lot of Charr personal story.

I have always wondered why the charr are played less than other races…
Their personal storyline is so kittening awesome. Each of their legion feels unique. It gives a feeling that you’re really a part of their culture and society.
