Iv'e Had it with this IMPOSSIBLE camera angel
I don’t know if you had experienced this, but i’m personally sick and tired of almost every jumping puzzle you do as a Charr or a class just as big like norn, kittens up every time I can’t do like any puzzle without failing all the time because of, screwed camera angles.
And the new JP is near impossible for me to do as I constantly look straight into a wall not knowing where to jump. Please fix this as i’m sick and tired of it!!!!
Man this is L2P issues =) All me characters are Charrs and zero problem wits JP.
Fredy Brimstone lvl 80 Mighty Warrior
Oupí lvl 80 Immortal Guardian
i think maybe because i am kinda used to it…
“Knowledge” as “Truth”…
They are sheep ruled by fear…
hehe camera angel…
honestly though; i dont have a problem with the camera angle (though the weapon sheathed running animation has cost me a few jumps); but some charr/norn players like to use tonics in JPs; that might help?
80 warr [Blaze Steelsoul], 80 ele [Blaze Nightstrike], 80 mesmer [Grim Shatterwhirl]
80 guard [Dusk Grimlight], 80 engi [Flintgear]
There’s a running joke I’ve got that ANet runs with their camera off the left shoulder because they keep putting walls on the right-hand side of their JPs (I run camera off the right shoulder) xP
That said, try moving the camera position slider and practice setting it optimally for the jumping tasks at-hand. Yes, the camera can be a spaz and there are a few JPs out there with collision issues, but that’s where practice makes perfect. Now if you’re talking about Troll’s End, I can’t help ya. You can either handle the forced 1st-person view and like it, or you can learn to like it if you wanna finish that one regularly.
Or, get your mesmer friends who are awesome at JPs to port you to the chests.

How I fixed the problem with my charr. That and I have a asura mesmer.
I just had to.
On topic, it is extremely agitating, particularly when you have to go inside ships or in jumping puzzles, I can’t see anything then…
Patience, a desire and willingness to run back from a bad jump, and Anet putting more respawn points closer to the start of JPs are all that is required to do these effectively. I suck at JPs myself, but I have done many of them, and some I just lost patience on when the run back is worse than restarting the puzzle. Really, if the puzzle can kill you with a fall, there needs to be a respawn point closer to the entrance, and reasonably free of enemies. JPs can be hard enough without having to fight your way back into them. No one has time for that kind of stupidity.
fans hate Joffrey. They hate her the way Star Wars
fans hate Jar Jar Binks.”-not a direct quote, but still true.
It’s not “only” inconvenient, it can also cause motion sickness. Love my charr, but for jumping puzzles with any narrow/low spaces they are sadly pretty much a no-go.

I could handle 1st person view fine, but the false sense of it you get from the camera having nowhere to go but jammed through the character’s skull bothers me, because I can’t even look down at the things I should be jumping on without it getting just enough freedom to stare at the back of the head and make me want to stab things.
There’s probably a game out there with a worse camera than GW2, but I’ve never played it and likely never would.
I have done every jumping puzzle on my charr warrior and have had no major problems. But I’m always holding down my right mouse button to move the camera along with me. I’ve always been decent at figuring out what I need to do and how far to go in order to make the next jump. When I did create a asura character a few month after launch the movement and jumping felt wired to me since I was so used to my charr.
