My Charr has his horns hidden because of his hood and I’m trying to think of a justifiable reason as to why my Charr would not have his horns (besides being able to wear a hood).

Saw them off so his sillouette is smaller and can slip through tighter spaces without getting snagged if he is a rogue.

I’m actually sort of surprised given the other decorations that some haven’t sawed theirs off or filed them down. I mean one of the female options has clearly cut hers in half and stuck a cog in the middle.

What I came up with off the top of my head:

-Charr whose horns happen to grow unusually large may cut them on purpose, depending on their profession. Large horns would get in the way for a charr who has to work in tight spaces or go unnoticed. Also, depending on the direction they grow in, they could be a problem in combat.

-Some Charr cut their horns for beauty. There is one female charr horn option where she cut her horns off and attached gears to the ends. Another one somehow manipulated her horns to grow around a gem. For males, there’s one where he cut the tips off his horns and attached metal plates to the ends.

-Charr who were sickly as cubs, or charr who have genetic mutations, may only grow very tiny horns—or none at all. In the male character creation, there is a set of horns that looks stunted, and female horns can be downsized almost to non-existance.

-Charr may have lost their horns in battle. They could be ripped, smashed, or cut off—depending on what happened in the fight.

i like to imagine that charr horns are very much like deer antlers.

you shed and grow them back periodically. so if you don’t have any horns then it might just be because you had recently shed them.

or if you are a warrior you might have caught an axe to the head, and lost a horn.

I like that idea, I can now see Charrs with a full set of stag alters, complete with foci and axes tangled in them, scary

Looking at the concept art, Cubs don’t really have much in the way of horns, so it could be an age thing. Maybe the Charr wants to be young forever? Or maybe they’re in a really high up position in the warband but they’re still young and might not have the respect of their older members? Or maybe they were cut off in an attempt to look younger to trick the enemy into underestimating them.

War wounds, drunken fights, maybe they hollowed one out to use as a drinking horn as a symbol of their battle ability.

The possibilities are endless

I was always thinking about that one might have gotten broken in battle, having only one horn would probably look off, and probably make your head uncomfortable from the unbalanced weight, so they cut them both down to an even size.

I always thought Charr horns were detachable…
They’d grow it to the size they’d wish, then they would cut off it all, then put some sort of iron mechanism into the stub and the end of the horn, then reattach it, filing down the stub when it grows too long to fit the horn.
Why do you think you never see your Charr’s horns grow?

Okay, so I’m going to be frank. I personally want a no horn option because I’m not a fan of the horns at all. I just bought this game cause a friend told me I could play as a kitten Cat/Beastman/Klingon thing and I was like “Oh really? Shut up and take my money!”
While waiting for the download to finish he showed me what character creation options I would have for a Male Charr… I was a little disappointed.
While not a deal breaker by any means, the horns remain ridiculous looking in my eyes subjectively (this is just my opinion). As does the fact that you can’t change the aspect ratio of your arms to the rest of your body. I (as far as the game currently stands) cannot be a lithe ninja/thief/catman assassin, because I will always look like a hulking Neanderthal catman.
If this was something the customization kit added I would be more likely to purchase it.
