Might just be guardian, but the sword looks silly… sits too far down on the hip, and when running with sword in hand, it looks like you’re palming the pommel…pics below

Checked a couple other cheap swords from TP, same result…checked my Human Warrior and Syvlari Ranger, they look just fine.

Does this kind of stuff ever get fixed? sword/shield is my favorite to use for looks, but this ruins it for me…

no its all professions thief, ranger, mesmer, and warrior. they all look weird when running with a sword in hand. it was one of the first things i noticed about them. i dont use sword and shield because of this

When I start running the sword slowly slips out of my charr’s hand and ends up being handled by the pommel … which looks pretty bad for a sword

1H swords almost always also clip through the floor due to this. There is a thread to post character art bugs here:

It’s not high priority, but they do make periodical changes to size and position of equipment in patches at times, though it’s usually not in the patch notes.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that on my Charr Warrior too. I compensate for it somewhat by using swords with a longer handle like the Fiery Dragon Sword or the Lionguard sword, but hopefully ANet will fix this in a future update.

My warrior holds the sword at the end of the handle, what is the exact opposite of how are swords wielded (RL experience). It seems, strange.

Like zombies. Looks fine at first glance, but you know there is something reaally wrong…

First thing i noticed, now i am reluctant to using one because they look plain silly.

At least greatswords have been fixed, at first they mostly seemed to dig into a charr’s back when not drawn. If that’s fixed, hopefully the single handed variety will be as well before long. Until then, if it really bothers you, go with axes.

its not that bad when you use an axe adn dagger, but i have yet to find a sword with a hilt that is long enough.

Happens to all my weapons when I run as a Charr, really wish it would get fixed.

And Arena Net wonders why so many people play human instead of their “pet” races. This is the reason.

I brought that bug up a little while ago. The weapon is misplaced when they run. Other than that I have no issues.

All weapon on Charr have this bug not only sword. Me and many other Charrs players report this bux 100x during the past 7 months.
And ArenaNet ? Have been silent.

Yah, as said it happens with every one-handed weapon type, not just swords. Its just that most other weapon types seem to have longer hilts and it doesn’t look quite as silly.

The funny thing is that it only happens with mainhand weapons. My Charr ranger can carry his axe perfectly fine in the offhand, but the second its in the mainhand and I start running the axe makes a break for it :p

if this issues, and it is a issue….is ever going to be fixed we need to get more people posting on the thread… they really only pay attention to threads that get a lot of views

honestly, the only weapon that doesnt move when walking is the greatsword! i hate using the greatsword, but since its the only weapon that doesnt slide out of my persons hand…i use it more than my sword, scepter, pistol etc etc..

i never really noticed the dagger being a problem with my charr thief, but i didnt play it very long either!

i think we should all start posting pictures of our characters holding swords when they have fallen out of the hand

Well it’s not as noticeable since daggers are tiny, but since they end up gripping it half by the blade I figure it counts as stupider, haha.

1. wield dagger
2. begin running
3. bleed to death

First 1-2 sec movement are fine but after 1-2 sec when you’re on the move, weapon moves 15 cm up

some of them move u far enough to where they arent even in the hand of the character any more….
