That’s really enlightening. Basically, the charr designed the city around being one of the most strategically difficult to raid. In fact, it’d be hell, due to the various factors involved. Every last variable was taken into account.

Absolutely fantastic! Good to finally see someone publish a post like this. I’ve tried to help enlighten folks on the deliberate design of the Black Citadel, and this only serves to prove the point as truth. Thank you for this post!

Very good read! It’s even more impressive when you take note of just how many defensive cannons are placed around the Citadel. The battery atop the Hero’s Forum is particularly impressive, boasting (if I remember correctly) over a dozen mortars, a half dozen cannon turrets, and capped off with the largest Charr cannon I’ve yet seen.
