Note that this is not about the screaming like you’re falling to your death that some Charrs are experiencing when they jump.

Most of the male Charr jumping sounds are animalistic grunts, but one of them stands out from the rest (I haven’t made a female one so I don’t know if they suffer from it too). It is a lot louder than the other sound emotes and it doesn’t sound very animalistic at all. It actually sounds like he’s suddenly really confused and goes “HUH???”. To me it makes my character sound like hes a moron, and I find it incredibly annoying.

Please consider changing it.

-1 no don’t change it i like it, i’d prefer you change the voice for retreat on guardian shout, it sounds too human like.

I also have to -1 this, too. What is it with people and wanting to rob the charr of their character?

No, you can’t have boots. No, you can’t have goofy sounds.

What next, are people going to complain about their goofy lines? No, you can’t have your charr saying that they’ve obtained the awesome.

Play another race? It’s for the best.

You want boots? You want goofy sound? You want them to say they got something awesome? There’s an ap- i mean – Asura for that

Now that’s just straight up trolling, I’m sorry. Please, be mature with discussions.

I’m saying that I like what’s unique about the charr, and their shouty nature in and outside of battle is a part of them. If you’ve seen me post around here, you’d know that I’m pretty much a charr lore buff, and someone who plays the charr exclusively.

I just don’t want them to become some flavourless thing just because certain parts of their nature tends to bug or annoy certain types of person. And if I have to sink to a lower level – that type of person is a boring person.

The asura don’t have the lion’s share (so to speak) of unique behaviours.

I’m just sharing my opinion. Which happens to be: Leave my charr alone. :|

I love that grunt; it cracks me up every time, never gets old!
I only hear it when I’m doing jumping puzzles, vistas and quite often expresses how I feel at the time.

…And it quenches the urge to find out who at Anet I need to punch for making the jumping puzzles…well played Anet…well played….

It is not a "huh? " its a Hmmph…like you got popped in the gut. stop trivializing everything and enjoy the game please.

I always laugh when i jump down a rock and my charr goes “aaaaaaaarrrrghh”<3

If you pop yourself into combat-mode so you’re standing on two-legs while you run and then jump down ANY form of a decline, no matter how slight, you will always be treated to the tell-tale “HYEAAARRRRRRGH!!”. Apparently the Charr are absolutely terrified of any height.
