War declared on Rata Sum
/snort
good luck with that
How do you propose we initiate our assault?
Easy. We override the Sedition Inhibitor signal in their golems, then sit back and watch as the Asura bow down to their new golem overlords. And then we come in and destroy all the golems.
Well. If you ARE so intent on doing this, I propose that the golems are shut down like Kudu’s Golems were in the Crucible of Eternity. Rata sum has a Golem Control Nexus somewhere too, doesn’t it?
Then again, you are NOT getting the Flame Legion to cooperate with you.
And while your assault forces are invading Rata Sum, good luck defending Ascalon from ghosts and the Molten Alliance.
But what is your reasoning behind this assault? There is more benefit in cooperation than war
Interesting post OP. This is sure to be a good discussion topic.
First, I feel calling for all warbands is folly as only the Flame Legion would be bold and antagonistic as to wage war against any of the other four races. The Charr are facing the threat of the elder dragons and molten alliance as well as the human separatists; they can’t afford to make any more enemies.
Second, the Flame Legion/Molten Alliance as well as the Charr race as a whole has too much to gain from allying with the Inquest/Asura respectively. Why destroy/shut down asuran portals already present in every nook and and cranny of Tyria and make new ones when you can just seize and use them yourself.
If the Flame Legion is serious about conquest it needs to continue on its path of forming alliances with other antagonizing forces. As it stands (especially after the death of Zhaitan and the risen) the strength of the Legions and the other protagonist groups is greater as a result of their unity (although some leaders among these communities have potential to cause tension between them due to old grudges and close mindedness.)
All that being said, I would love to see the full force of Rata Sum demolish any army foolish enough to wage war against it. With its golem army, advanced explosives and weapon technology, educated magic wielders, as well as its ability to transport goods and soldiers anywhere in Tyria, I don’t believe there is such a force to oppose it (outside of the elder dragons.)
You’d dare join with the ranks of those demons!?
<Snarl> Not I!!Your warbands couldn’t defeat the brutish Norn on their own. Without strategy, advanced technology, rhyme or reason. The Norn crushed you alone.
What makes you think you stand a chance against the amassed intellect of the Asura?
Your blood legion is welcome to throw bodies at our defenses, your ash legion can try and fail to steal bits of information to supplement your own meager technology, and the iron legion can send legions of toy tanks at us to be dismayed as we crush them, and your flame legion… I need not say more. The fact that you’ve even suggested working with them dooms your plan to failure before it can take flight.
You are nothing.
No assault is worth working with the Flame Legion. We’ve been down that road before, nothing good can come of it.
Giving the Flame Legion direct control of all major transit would be a fools errand.
I say leave them be, there is no reason to fight them, over time they will self destruct. Their massive egos and mad creations will be their downfall and to any who try to argue this point, take a look at their reactor in metrica province and the asura fractal where there is only one mad asura left

Really? My charr eats norms like i eats pizza. If anything, charrs r on pair with norms. They can be a bit stronger, but they are much slower, keep that in mind
We need to somehow convince the flame legion that the asuras are a threat. Hopefully they will attack Rata Sum and we will look innocent since the flame legion is not a part of us. Then we support the Inquest from the shadows. Hopefully a larger Inquest presence would incite some sort of civil war among the asura. If we’re able to do it right we could wipe out the asura and nobody would even know that we did it.

i read it to Dinky and he ask why Samona dont make biggest bomb ever and then we throw it to Rata sum from Lions arch. XD
Well I can’t see any of us being willing to fight alongside the smoke-lickers, especially given the recent troubles in Diessa Plateau. So I say we crush the Flame Legion first, learn the portal technique for ourselves and then maybe think about replacing the Asura gates … before sabotaging the behavioural inhibitors on the golems … very fond of that idea.

The Flame Legion doesn’t use these portals on their own, do they? Or is it some kind of hybrid magitech they developed in partnership with the Dredge? Or even wholly Dredge Tech with a fiery color scheme slapped on to appease their allies? There are some Rebel Dredge out there who would probably be happy to share tech with a wealthy backer, no? Maybe that’s an avenue to investigate first.

I refuse to work with flame legion traitors on anything, they used Effigies powered by the life force of Charr prisoners chained inside them and burned alive! Besides, they all work for Primodus these days, and I’m kind of committed to fighting dragon minions at this stage.
Also, I think we have a good working relationship with those Asuran gremlins, any time they invent something useful, Ash steal the plans, Iron figure out how to make it work PROPERLY and mass produce it!

Agreed.
Allow the Flame Legion to attack Rata Sum. Then, when both sides are weakened, we strike! We eliminate two foes with one assault.
