Weapon Shrinkange
here is another angle:
(edited by Daenous.8357)
My daggers do it too. Even though they’re different, when wielded they are the same length but stowing them makes my main hand shrink.
I wonder if that has something to do with the fix they put on running around with your main hand weapon out. Before it used to slip down to the pommel of the sword (the end of the handle) and looked real funny. If you look now while running, it doesn’t do it anymore.
Not sure when they fixed that, but I wonder if the fix caused this issue to spring up.
yeah, I remember that issue, It deterred me from making a charr, then I heard it was fixed and noticed this lovely little issue.

This happens with many different weapon types (especially back-sheathed weapons) and applies to every race in the game. Weapons get shrunk down to better fit on the character model. Usually pretty hard to notice unless you’re looking for it specifically.
It is odd that it only happens with the mainhand and not the offhand for Charr, though.
Noticed it very very very recently myself, the recent “weapon sliding” bug fix made me have faith in anet again and after noticing this bug… lost it once more.
yeah, I was aware about the shrinking of weapons to make them better fit the character model, especially asura, seeing as the staff is hugely taller than the asuran itself.
but this has made me not want to use dual weapons on a charr hahah.
I noticed something interesting with regards to this issue yesterday while playing my Charr Ranger.
The mainhand weapons for Charr are shrinking twice now. If you watch very carefully as you sheath the weapon, you can see it shrink once (which is probably normal to keep it from clipping into the ground with a Charr’s hunched posture) but then it shrinks a second time. Its the second shrink that’s making it far too small, and it doesn’t effect the offhand weapons.
Not sure why its happening, but I think that’s the cause.
Bigger the character the more you will notice this.
