What profession best suits Charr?
that depends on legion you choose. what i’ve seen from npc’s of these legions are:
Blood Legion: Warriors and Rangers
Iron Legion: Engineers
Ash Legion: Thieves and Necromancers
Of course you can choose any profession you want, but those npc’s ive seen associated to those legions.
I know that necromancer isn’t easy to categorize to ash legion, but if you go to early game Ash camp and join dynamic event there, you undoubtedly see them use thief’s cloud thingy and necromancers life siphon. And there is only time i see legions use necromancy, so I’d put Ash and necromancy together

Charr, from what I see, tend to focus on the Practical Classes.
Blood Legion > Warriors
Ash Legion > Thief
Iron Legion > Engineer
Flame Legion are the exception (one of the reasons they are outcasts) and tend towards Elementalists.
Blood Legion> Martial professions: Warrior, Ranger and Guardian.
Ash Legion> Stealth professions: Thieves and Mesmers (yeah mesmers are equaly, if not more, stealthy)
Iron Legion> Definitely Engineer, I would add Elementalists too since as a profession they require a lot of planning and strategy, but I’m not realy sure as they have nothing to do with machines.
Now Necromancers are difficult for me to categorize, i wouldn’t say they’re the typical Ash Legion member as they have no stealth and they have nothing to do with machines too, so no Irons either. That leaves Blood Legion which would make sense considering they are quite tanky and “in your face”, but for some reason I can’t picture them fitting Blood Legion ranks.
I have a Female Warrior Charr of the Blood legion alt. I think it fits her very well and she looks so awesome in heavy armor.
If you want your Charr to look like a Defensive Lineman in the NFL, definitely go for the heavy armor and get you some MASSIVE shoulders. Heavy armor actually tends to look pretty good on Charr.
I’ve heard grumblings that the leather armor is pretty lackluster on the Charr.
I’m a fan of the Tier 1 cultural robes mixed with the Tier 3 culture helm for light armored Charr, but those are my personal opinions.
If it means anything to you, I definitely see many more Warrior and Engineer Charr than any other Charr.
Goal: To have one character of every race, gender, and armor class combination at level 80.
Current progress: Human 4/6 | Charr 1/6 | Norn 1/6 | Sylvari 1/6 | Asura 1/6 | Total: 8/30
To answer the OP, any of the professions work well with Charr.
There are some common generalizations, but effectively its just a lore thing. I can find a reason why a Necro would be in the blood legion, and why an engineer can be in the Ash Legion. If you are a resourceful mind, you can make anything work. I see lots of people like to give into common stereotypes.. and for a game that’s just fine, but it really stifles personal creativity. Its also a good point of character generation to re-imagine what it would be like to choose between conformity, and rebellion.
For example, playing a mesmer among the blood legion. Kinda boggles the mind, right? Maybe that’s his issue, that he feels that he/she would be better suited to say.. Iron Legion, where this Charr can use his magic to engage an armoured squad into stealth formation. The enemy could hear the noise off on the horizon, but would they be prepared for the strike??
Or a Necro in Ash Legion, wishes he was in Blood, so he can use his expertise in dealing with ghosts…
Or an Elementalist from Blood, who uses his magic to speak to the spirits of the machine. They are, after all.. constructs of the elements. That Charr would be best suited to Iron Legion.
You could even go deeper, but you get the point. Think outside of the box! It could lead to some fun times.

I play a Charr Warrior (Blood Legion) as my main and find that the skill animation and heavy armor look great on them. If you choose warrior, play with no helm (I’m not sure if there’s a hide-helm option, My warrior wears no helm) because I find that the heavy-armor helms look like odd on male Charr.
I’ve seen Charr Necromancers, Engineers and Thieves and I think those professions suit them pretty well. I’ve heard that medium armor looks fairly boring on Charr, but the light armor I’ve seen looks really cool.
