What's up with Sour Doomsday?
Infinte Light, I think they’re called. Pretty cool aren’t they.
That character was a Mesmer back in the beta. Made his invisibility and all that more fitting as well.
Thanks! Are they attainable for players? If so, where can I get a pair like his?
To my knowledge, any piece of armour or weapon you see an NPC use, players can use them as well. The question is, how do you acquire it.
Back when I was looking for sword skins for my Charr Mesmer, I noticed the sword and scoured the internet for how to acquire it. At the time, it was not known how to acquire it. However that was months ago, so perhaps a Mystic Forge recipe has been found since I set off to look for it.

Found it! I’m not level 80 yet, and I haven’t fooled around with the Mystic Forge, are these ingredients difficult to find?
The scroll is bought from Miyani for 50 SP.
The Hundred Coins are easy enough to get from Dailies (1 per) and Monthlies (20 per).
The Sword Blades will take 750 Orichalcum Ingots (1,500 Ores!), but can be gotten in good time.
Then there are the Lodestones.

I’ll let that speak for itself. All of the tiered rare materials (most of them ending in Lodestones for T5, except for the undead’s various Essences) are, well, rare.

This chart? Become familiar with its fifth tier. Those things are used in lots of high-end Forge weaponry, among other things.
Those Charged Lodestones are going to the the hard part. They usually go on the Trading Post for 2 gold or so each. Personally I have the Whisperblade for my Mesmer’s sword… which has the exact same recipe except it is 250 ectos rather than 250 Charged Lodestones.
That Infinite Light is pretty kitten awesome though. Too bad about the gear treadmill getting in the way of pursuing such awesome looking skins.
Yeah, just got to this part. I kinda wanted to see how Charr act around Necromancers and what not considering I don’t see how the races tolerate them. Was kind of disappointing to see that he was a Mesmer. Rytlok lied to me! Just the same… I guess I will get my wish if the NPCs are still stupid enough to think he’s a Necro… With swords… and a purse fat enough to buy 500 freaking charged lodestones. Seriously, that’s like 1500 gold at today’s rate!
I would also like to point out.. how the heck are we supposed to farm these things as an alternative with the DR kicking in as quick as a half an hour of farming the proper mobs that drop these lodestones? Droprates so low you are lucky to get one in that time frame, and they want us to get 250?!

Well, it’s confirmed!
Rytlock can’t tell the difference between skulls and butterflies.
