1 year; 3 Legendaries still not fixed.
The Minstrel is by far the most underwhelming. Foci have probably the most diverse range of skins in the game and its not hard to find something that looks much more epic than The Minstrel. It would be improved immensely with the addition of a unsheathing animation and persistent aura. A sound playing when drawn would be very appropriate.
Meteorologicus is fine IMO. It’s gaudy and over the top, and adding more will not make it any better.
What about the Juggernaut? I’m pretty sure that doesn’t have footsteps either, and if it does then it has a very underwhelming effect (a silvery water-like trail when swung). Also when wielded there’s no glow/aura on it or the wielder either.
If you want a focus that’s worth the cash, the Anomaly can’t be beat. It honestly should be a legendary weapon. The Minstrel… omg what thought was put into that before people tested it prior to release? Obviously very little/none.
They did say that legendary weapons took off an awful lot sooner than anticipated, and to this day they still haven’t addressed any issues with any of them (that I can think of).

Not luck and credit cards.”

Juggernaut has an EXTREMELY noticeable aura, The thing turns you silver for pete’s sake. It would be overkill at this point.

Pretty much everyone that has it wants foot step and aura effects on it, it’s a probably one of the legendaries with the most unique design.
And no it wouldn’t be over the top. Are the Twilight and Sunrise, swords that you can see different parts of the sky in depending on perspective that also has a paint brush swing effect and foot effects that work the same over the top? It’s a legendary, But nah man a scepter that isn’t even half as big is too “gaudy”.
I really don’t understand what makes people want legendaries to be more like every other legendary. Adding footprints makes it LESS unique, not more.
Now, I totally support giving it more FX and greater screen presence, but doing by repeating the same old kitten droppings is a lame plan. When I draw Meteorologicus, I want storm clouds to gather overhead, I want a brief blast of wind and rain, snow, hail or what have you (the FX for most of that being already in-game). I want the rumble of distant thunder.
I want WEATHER, not piddly little footprints like those greatsword saps leave laying around…
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”
- Jareth, King of Goblins.
I want the focus to leave a trait of floating musical notes and to make every hit on a enemy like throwing confetti of music notes. The meteologius should have some type of storm cloud following you overhead or random weather effects happening around your body. The Kraitkin only looks like a legendary at night on a Asura, so make the daytime effects bigger. I want those 3 legendary to have more unique effects than the rest. Most of the caster legendaries seems like they were an after thought for A-net. I do not want the rainbow stick :P (Bitfrost).
Still wondering if A-net will every do anything with the ugly legendaries. Similiar to Blizzard soon this will happen, meaning months or years. The first month of the game people complain once the minstrel was made and what happen. A-net improved the warrior legendaries. It has been 10months, so its easy to see that A-net are ignoring casters legendaries.

Juggernaut is one of the most unique legendaries, I don’t think it needs anything added to it.
I was only kidding with the over the top comment. Meteorologicus is indeed one of the most unique skins in any game I’ve ever seen. The moving orrery is really quite nice. It’s certaintly a step up from that tacky disco ball mace.
Oh I did it again.

While I agree with this thread completely as I have the Minstrel, there are a few points that are overlooked regarding this legendary.
It has a harp sound when you attack, but the volume of it is very low. It also produces notes when you move around, but the intensity of it seems very random. Sometimes the notes are abundant, and other times its like 1 or 2 notes and then stops completely.
I think if they make the harp sound much louder, and the notes consistant and bigger, it would greatly increase the appeal.
Eternity is by far the most needed improvements for. Two legendary weapons in one and inferior to BOTH legendary weapons you needed to make it.

As much as I would love this, they would never give this to us. Since it is too unique an effect for caster legendaries which Anet seem to hate. Just because a lot of legendaries have footsteps does not mean it will make the scepter less unique because you could just say it’s currently not unique now because of how it comes of as a normal weapon and not a legendary by not having any sort of trail effect like footsteps and an aura.
And the Bifrost
And the Bifrost
The Bifrost has footsteps…. and a unique weapon trail.
Kudzu is currently hideous due to the floating bowstring it suffers from. Every time I use mine, my eyes are immediately drawn to it. I’m not even asking for fancy new effects (though that would be nice). I simply want to know why the legendary longbow was allowed out of testing with such an obvious problem.
Easy to forget, I know, but Frenzy needs some updating too.
A misty aura that only works about 50% of the time, fish that swim around the weapon.
No special projectiles or anything of the like.
Very beautiful weapon, but very little effects.
Juggernaut needs a fix, because metallic effect vanishes from stealth, mesmer portals and other stuff.
I’m still waiting for the Minstrel to have a toogle that turns it into a musical instrument, similar to the flute and the bell, but of course based on a harp.

Did Anet say they were broken?
Did Anet say they were broken?
Do they say anything is ever broken in their own game?!

I’ve only ever seen male warriors wield it (with a metallic armour), so that probably explains why I’ve never seen them turn a different colour. All I’ve ever really noticed is the trail when the hammer is swung.

The Juggernaut is perfect in the legendary hammer role. It has footsteps, a wonderful aura and special skill effects. The footsteps are the small quicksilver trail you noticed. Not being big makes the effect interesting! The aura is the armor skin that changes to something much more metallic. Finally the quicksilver trail for each skill makes it very unique.
So I think that you haven’t really looked at it. Ask to a Juggernaut wielder to show you those, he’ll be happy to oblige I guess. If you look for any, just ask me: I happen to have it
Well I’ve seen it being used in battle, and I haven’t noticed half those effects. Does scaling the graphics do something to said effects?

I picked up the Bard yesterday and am really hoping they update the Minstrel soon…but not gonna hold my breath.

Um, you missed the point …
Anet does say if things are going to be improved and changed. That sets an expectation. I’m asking if they have set the expectation with the things the OP is saying are broken.

Anet have said for a while certain legendaries will be getting a few visual updates, but this was a while ago and they’re never specific with this sort of thing. Seeing as most people that own these legendaries have asked for this relatively fair changes I think its safe to say these are not complete legendaries.
Loosen up.
Forgot the dreamer…. you know the unicorn bow…. ya…. it doesn’t have footsteps either. lol neither does howler….. but ya……. those are mainly ranger weaps so i guess those don’t count…..

Howler has footsteps, but barely noticeable. Although it could use some improvements for footsteps.
And i am not sure if those effects are affected by grafic settings. If they are, Anet shoud change it so even on lowest settings effects are still fully visible.
