I might be out of the loop on this but as far as I can tell when they updated the armor and weapon options for WvW badges they also introduced a currency requirement to them. Is there any reason to this besides more of a money sink for legendaries on top of the time sink that badges already impose?

I am not sure why the 50 silver is required along with the badges… but when you take the total value of the materials required to craft one (eg. the Dreamer is worth 1500 gold in materials alone, including precursor… and yes I did calculate it) 50 silver is a drop in the bucket.

Seeing as I only got the Gift of Battle yesterday, I thought the 50 silver was always a requirement. Didn’t seem too extraordinary, it’s not overly difficult to earn a couple gold in WvW per night.

Those http://gw2legendary.com/ prices are off. They assume you get a mystic clover each time you use the recipe instead of the 1/3 average. Which is why the overall karma requirement is way off. The overall gold cost would go up decently bc of the ectos and coins required for the RNG gods.

but when the clover recipe doesn’t give you clover, it gives you other shinies that decrease cost elsewhere. I got 45 vial of powerful blood from one craft once (10 clover recipe).
