“The Additional Crafting License is now available in the Gem Store. This license allows players to have up to three active crafting professions on all characters on their account for the low price of 800 gems in the Upgrades category.”

This is a very appealing product.
However, I have a huge problem of alt characters already having a profession. Some of them I’ve spent well over 300g + other account-bound currencies on (unlocking all recipes, including ascended inscriptions and such).
I would like to be able to move a profession (and everything I have learned for that profession) from one character to another.
or, have those recipes I learned on my guardian also apply towards my mesmer, for example.
There is also a problem of not knowing if this product will be expanded to allow up to 4 per character, then 5, then 6, etc (like what happened to the collection expander). You can’t plan ahead. It costs so much to get a new profession on a new character, and you’d have to shuffle them around again if this product got upgraded.

You beat me to it, Mystic. I was going to post almost exactly the same thing.

I agree with and second Mystic’s post.

I have my 8 crafts spread across 5 characters. I make and sell stuff all the time for the trading post, and switching between characters to use their craft is a bit of a nuisance. I would love to be able to consolidate my crafting on fewer characters, however since I’ve already maxed out or nearly maxed out all my crafts (Armorsmithing isn’t quite to 500, yet.), this license isn’t very valuable to me.

If I could transfer my crafts to fewer characters, then it would be extremely valuable.

Dually noted.
As someone who hit Master Crafter a long time ago, the crafting license comes too little too late for convenience.
And a 3-trade cap? Psh. Let me pay for an 8-trade cap and have one character who can do it all, and I’ll at least give it a listen.

Many alts; handle it!

personally I’m probably going to get this even though I hit master crafter awhile back. The reasoning is simple, ascended gear.

Now I get that I’m going to have to buy the recipe for each stat combo and weapon I make, but since I’ve been leveling my character crafting ability I’ve always paired like crafting with like crafting, Example being my warrior is a armorsmith and a tailor, since in the beginning I had more heavy and light armor characters.

This did help offset a cost that was in the games early day in that Karma was not account bound at that time. So when I learned the insignia for one I had it on both, the same can be said for now since Karma is harder to get unless you farm it by doing events. So buying a Zoijias insignia once and now for two characters is more economical at the current karma cost especially when leveling multiple professions to 500.

This item should be very helpful to people who only have one or two main characters with multiple crafting skills unlocked on them.

For a player with 5 mains with all crafting skills unlocked across them? Not so much.

About this new license I still dont understand, it give you an extra craft option BUT if for example I have elementalist it has tailor and cook on it and I will choose to add artificer, while my artificer is already 500 on other character will it also be 500 on Elemntalist or I will have to lvl this extra craft again but on Elemntalist?

Dalien understands my problem with it. It’s a good item if it was in the game to begin with, but at this stage it doesn’t really help.
It’s not even just the cost to manually move a crafting profession from one character to another. A lot of recipes are no longer obtainable.

I would buy it if the Crafting levels were account-bound, aka my Ranger who has Jeweller 400, Leatherworking & Huntsman @ 500 can gain my Warrior’s Armor & Weaponcrafting lvl500.

Otherwise “lol no thanks…”

even if just item recipe unlocks (the items in your inventory you double-click to learn the recipe) were account-bound instead of soulbound I would be willing to level a duplicate craft on another char.

I have to admit cooking could use recipe sharing.
