Additional Ecto??? Why?

Yesterday I crafted on weaponsmith (lvl 460) swords – recipe is sword blade + sword hilt + Exotic inscription…. But it didn’t working, there was needed to add 5 globs of ectoplasm…. Why? Bug?

The inscriptions that aren’t crafted, such as Rabid Orichalcum Imbued Inscription, require 5 ectos to use when making the exotics but not the ascended.

Why? It is the same as crafted inscriptions.
