I created a Gift of Twilight some time ago, and now I am no longer interested in creating Twilight; my heart now lies, and has for some time, with Sunrise.
I’m considering just moving forward and making Sunrise, and losing out on the gold I spent for Gift of Twilight. It’s a big loss in gold since I can’t trade or or break it down, but such is life sometimes; and because I don’t have a precursor yet, I don’t feel too restricted to having to finish Twilight.

I have considered moving forward with Twilight, however, since I have the Gift already, with the intentions of selling Twilight to buy Sunrise. But, the joy I find in the process of crafting a legendary comes from the personal experience – there’s a feeling that ‘this’ legendary is mine, I brought it into Tyria, I forged it with my own hands! I’m fairly certain this feeling would not be there if I went forward and made Twilight, and then sold it for a Sunrise. There’d still be a big sense of personal accomplishment, but not the same.

I’m pretty certain I may just work towards Sunrise, since I want the personal experience of crafting it, then equipping what I crafted; but, I’d really like to here what some others have to say on this particular matter.

Any input or advice would be very appreciated.

If the crafting matters to you, craft twilight, sell it and buy the ingredients for sunrise to craft it yourself.

Thanks for the input Wanze. That’s actually a really interesting idea that I didn’t consider. However, if I did that, I’d essentially be selling a world completion and a million karma. Both of these aren’t things I farm or acquire regularly; whereas I come by gold much easier. It’s certainly an alternative thought that enables me to save a goodly portion of gold, while still crafting Sunrise thought. Thanks again for the input.

Gift of Twilight is a fairly small part of a legendary’s cost. 232g vs. 2,515g total (if you bought all the materials at buy-order price).
It’s a setback for sure, but I would suggest just making Sunrise from scratch, and hold on to the Gift of Twilight until a time in the future when you want to make it (either to sell or to use; you can choose which when that time comes)
