I made +8 Agony infusion but when I tried to put it into my freshly crafted Ascended Chest piece it wouldn’t work. Is there something special that I need to do in order to make my armor accept the Agony Infusions?

The slots in your armor are not Agony Infusion slots, they are defensive slots. So you will need to use the +5’s you can buy with relics. If you want to use your +8, you will have to drop that into an AR infusion slot, infused rings and backpiece.
