They take up too much space in our bags. There’s hundreds of recipes and none of them stack or go into a collectibles slot. Offloading them to the trading post is not doing anything but flood the economy because the prices are plummeting to 0c with no minimum value.

I’ve seen items that cost 32c and ~.8 karma to craft on the TP for 2 copper. Assuming the TP takes out 1c on the front-end and 1c on the back-end the items are basically just breaking even on the cost to sell the item (not even including the mats!). But then nobody actually wants (or buys?) the items because nobody can search by stats or knows what the food is called.

I’m a level 400 chef and I can’t even figure out which items in my recipe book people would want (no stat search) so I can’t imagine how people are expected to buy things off the TP.

I’ve spent the majority of my money trying to max out cooking thinking I’d turn a profit at max level, only to find out that the cooked food is selling for literally 1/10th to 1/50th of the sum of the value of the mats, with no orders placed and 4k+ of the item on the TP.

Please do something. This was a pain to level and I powered through it telling myself it would be worth it in the end, but all I’m left with is an empty wallet, no customers, and wasted bag space.

Please buy food! Support your starving chefs.

did you read the NPC text when you trained cooking?

“warning: this profession will take ALOT more gold and karma and time then ANY other profession to level up, are you SURE you wish to train for it?”

=P you were warned….

If I don’t like it, I won’t do it.

I agree, kinda annoying that those gathering nodes still give tier 1 items.

The post was about bag space and the fact that you cant do kitten with items you crafted to level cooking since you cant sell em, not just about the cost of mats (that are pretty cheap actually… clothie/leather/heavy take more gold than cooking.

When life gives you lemon, ask if its from a anime or manga.

Cooking is semi broken right now. It was already expensive to do with no profit WITHOUT them raising the Karma costs and changing how you got certain items. Maybe they didnt want people powerleveling a whole 10 levels of exp (which you can do with other profs to). I thought the tradeoff of cooking was it was expensive to do but less of a hassle. Not the case. As to you OP. Make Omnomberry bars? The 40% MF, extra goldfind, and exp food. Looks to me like thats about the only thing selling and making a small profit right now.

Leveling it is actually easier / cheaper than the other professions, mostly due to the availability of materials from karma vendors.. its usefulness however is .. to quote a famous person: d’oh.

It should read more like this:

“Warning: this profession will take more gold and karma than any other profession. This is an advanced craft that will make you the laughing stock of the community. Are you sure you wish to train for it?”

I’m a level 400 chef and I’m ashamed of it.
