I’m looking to craft lvl 75-80 staves as an artificer, rare staves if possible.
But now I read somewhere that the max level rare staff you can make is 65?
Can someone please clarify?

Nope, the max level staves is 80. I’m not sure what level of Artificing you need for masterwork and rare staves, all I know level 400 you can make level 80 exotic staves and at level 500 level 80 ascended staves.

He’s looking to craft cheap rares to extract ectos that were never in the recipe to begin with.

Rare level 80 crafting starts at level 375. The next lowest rare is the Godskull Crosier and it is a level 65 staff.

You need karma recipes like all rare weapons and recipes for even exotic and ascended.
