Ascended Armor Bug?
I would like to make a set for my ele, but my necro is my Tailor (lvl 500). Are we really going to have to level alts to 500 tailoring to get armor on them? I thought it would be the same as weapons crafting…
Why should you never let a yak handle your paper clips? —Because Yak’s Bend!
Are you sure it didn’t say soulbound on equip? I have my armorsmith on my medium thief and make the ascended armor for my warrior and transfer it through the bank and it always worked. It’s always been account bound but I’ve never read what it says…
no it didnt say soul bound on equipt yurdun i didnt even get a message pop up to soulbind it
Did you already put on the runes?
That would make the armor soulbound.

Oh my. I hope this is not the case. The thought alone makes me want to cry.

If this is what happened you can make it account bound but it will take a lot of gems. Transmute the ascended appearance onto a blue item stats. Now it will be account bound. Give it to the toon you want to have wear it and then use a splitter and it should now be soulbound to the new toon. If you use a high enough blue item I believe you can also preserve the runes.
But if you are doing this with 6 pieces of armor that’s a lot of real life money.

Ouch… this thread just killed a part of my heart. o.o GL with the splitting~ it might end up almost as expensive as making the armor though. 22g per splitter another for 5-6 fine trannies? ;o 20 dollars might cover it as well.

Its the same toon, he was just wondering why the armor was soulbound before equipping it.

Whew – what a relief, I had missed that part. Anyway, ascended armor is account bound on creation and soulbound on use so, yeah, he probably added an upgrade and that made it soulbound.

That is actually display only. It doesn’t actually become soulbound until it is equipped. It does become account bound.

No, he’s right. Applying any upgrades to an equipment makes it soulbound, even if it is not equiped yet.
Never ever put a sigil or rune before transferring the gear to the right character.

Interesting, looks like they finally made that change in one of the recent patches. Although it probably would have made more sense to make it account bound until equip…

Actually it’s been like this for months at least, if not since the start of the game. I made some rare armor for a friend as a gift about a year ago, put upgrades on it and then couldn’t mail it off as it was then soul bound.

This has been in game for awhile now. It even gives you a warning.

The warning has always been there but at least the last time I tested which was months ago it didn’t actually do what the warning said.
