So will be be much better than exotic, what are the stats and will the defense be lower than exotic.

ALso how hard is it to get to 500. Also can i then also make an ascended dagger?

Go buy a full set of rares, and run a dungeon. See if it makes a difference.

You can’t sell or buy ascended gear. You can buy and sell some of the crafted ascended mats but not all of them.

If you had to buy all the mats, the cost to go from level 400 to 500 is about 200 gold. So depending on how stocked up you are in mats, the cost in gold is from zero to 200 gold. And then it costs more, either on gold or in time spent harvesting, to make each weapon.

If you level Weaponsmith to 500, you can make an ascended dagger.

The stats are better than exotics. I’ve seen a number of threads calculating how much better, they range from 5 to 10% better.

Not all agree the increase in stats are worth the cost to make.

you forgot base attack:
Exotic 2H (GS):
Strength 995 – 1,100

Ascended 2H (GS):
Strength 1,045 – 1,155

then you can add other stats

So for Armour and weapons i just have to get to 500 for weapon smith?

For weapons. Armor is not in yet. And i wouldn’t call it “just getting to 500” – it will cost you quite a lot. Also, crafting of ascended gear requires additional materials, which, while not terribly hard to get, still require some grind (about 100 champions, 25 dungeons and either 17 temple events or 25-30 world bosses per each weapon).

The difference between ascended and exotic is comparable to the difference between exotics and rares. So yes, they offer a visible improvement.

Weaponsmith has melee weapons so if you need ranged, you will need huntsman or articifer, depending on your profession. This will be an additional 200 gold in money or mats to level each one and then the additional mats bought or harvested for each weapon.

Armor will probably be later this year. And an additional 200 gold, etc, etc.

I don’t understand when later is coming…almost Turkey Day…

It depends on what stats you use since the stats are not correctly balanced in this game.

A full set of ascended zerker gear (weapons, armor, trinkets) will give you a 17% damage boost over a full set of exotic gear.

However a full set of ascended rabid gear will only give you a 5% damage increase over exotic gear. Defensive stats give similar gains as rabid gear due to the poor scaling of toughness and vit.

I get the feeling the OP has not crafted ANY as he seems to be asking if an Armorsmith can craft a weapon….the answer is NO.

Not the same. The difference between ascended/exotic is less than between exotic/rare. However, you will see a huge difference between someone in full exotic compared to someone in full ascended. Luckily they’ve been gradually releasing ascended so its not as noticeable.

Very true, i buy everything from the TP. Save for AC stuff. Now that ascended armour is coming very soon and i hate crafting, i just wish i could just buy em of tp. Please do not ask me where i got that quote from.
