I have the Beta Infused version of the ascended back piece.

The next upgrade is for the Fractal version.

Its a longer term goal with all the ecto it requires. My question is, can i put an infusion in the back piece now and still have it after i upgrade?

I don’t want to spend the money and time on the upgraded infusion and put it in the back piece only to lose it when I upgrade.

I don’t know this for certain as I haven’t done it, but I would assume that what comes out of the forge will have nothing to do with your infusion – meaning it will be gone. Reason being: The output of fixed mystic forge recipes are generally fixed as well.

I am almost certain people have reported that an infused ascended item loses that infusion when upgraded.

the agony resistance infusion will be lost when you upgrade it. so I suggest you buy a +5 AR infusion for tokens now. this way the loss wount be big.
