I have an idea.

Arena Net should make a vendor that you can give ascended materials to in exchange for an amount of another one.
Something like this:
10 Empyrial shards = 1 dragonite ore and vice versa
5 bloodstone dust = 1 dragonite ore and vice versa

I think this would help a lot of people whose banks are overflowing with a certain ascended material.

This would basically ruin the idea that you have to play a lot of different content to get those materials for ascended crafting.

LOL! Yeah, Anet doesn’t want you to play the game your way.

Anet wants to drag us through every single part of the game, whether we like those things or not.

I would second a vendor where you can spend excess Bloodstone Dust, Dragonite Ore and Empyrial Fragments, because excess supplies cannot be sold for coin.

Okay, there are a few Bloodstone Dust sinks already (Mawdrey and a few crafting recipes for a consumable item come to mind), but we need more outlets, especially for the other two.

Even if it’s just for generic random loot.
But I also would not be averse to being able to buy 1 Obsidian Shard for 100 Dust/Ore/Fragments.

I don’t know about “ruin” as it would simply allow the option NOT to play the content you don’t want to.

With the proper balance in exchange rates, I would be behind this idea……

I like the idea of feeding my Mawdrey with Bloodstone Dust. Now if only she automatically converted bricks down as she ate the dust…
