Ascended Materials and the Wallet
I’m always short of Empyreal Fragments.
Have a lot of excess bloodstone though. I think everyone does.
Oh jeez this is one of the best ideas ever. Please do it ANet!
The only issue would be that these are crafting items, not currencies.
Of course, as a way to act as a gold sink, you may be able to exchange these items for a fee to turn them into currency.

account bound items might just as well be added on an “infinite collection” category, because having excess of them just makes people toss them, and while that is technically a solution, it’s not what was intended to be done with them.
The crafting panel doesnt access the wallet.

Well I am sure that they could find a way to make it work!
What they need to do is make them tradeable like every other crafting material in the game, and let us trade or sell our excess stacks to people who like doing a lot of crafting. My wife’s inventory is overflowing with Dragonite because she’s always in WvWvW, and half of our guildies need the stuff. To make these things account-bound was a terrible decision all around.
They should be sellable. At least to vendors for a small sum or such. Or tradeable. I guess they fear it would diminish the value of ascended gear, but let’s be honest, the market may end up overflowed with dragonite, empyreal fragments of bloodstone, but the core components like deldrimor or damask will not.

The problem with making it tradeable is exactly that.
Bloodstone, Dragonite and Shards will be worthless on the TP and i would wager that it would tend towards 1c each due to the high influx of those mats from everybody hoarding them. This would result in anybody being able to use as much deldrimor/damask etc as he wants per day because he is not limited by his acquisition of dragonite/bloodstone/shards. Rich people would be able to buy as much ascended gear with only gold, resulting in price spikes for the common mats like linen, silk or iron.
Those ascended mats will never be tradeable or vendorable because they are intended for ascended crafting. They never replaced anything on the loot table and if you dont intend to use them in ascended crafting for yourself, go and delete them.
Putting them into the wallet is not the answer. The wallet is for currencies, the collectible tab is for crafting mats.
If you dont intend to use them in the future, get rid of them, if you dont want to toss them because you might want to use them in the future, refine them and you wont have a inventory problem.
