If someone placed four Ascended weapons into the Mystic Forge would that offer a chance to jump straight to legendary?

It would seem odd for the exotic precursors to be considered an higher tier return.

I know this is far from cost effective and I’m no where near crafting one yet let alone four.

Good question, it would be a nice move by Anet if it´s possible this way
