I’ve been trying to figure it out if it is more worth my while to go for ascended items or legendary items based on the cost.

Ascended items are very expensive once you already have your crafting at 500, however there is still some cost to them.

I’ve been thinking about my underwater weapons. They are the cheapest legionaries, yet their ascended cost seems to be on part with the rest.

I might try and put together a Kraitkin, does anyone know the approx cost gold wise to build one?

Nevermind, I’ve quickly looked up the cost and a legendary still far exceeds the cost of ascended weapons.

It seems the only real difference between the cost of each legendary is the cost of the precursor. all the gifts are still quite expensive to build.

Legendaries are very costly to build indeed. I doubt there are many who have equipped a character with only legendaries. So Ascended are good to have in the other weapon slots.

I cannot say how much crafting Kraitkin cost(s). I made one last Summer, but I had plenty of materials in storage. Still, it took many weeks to complete. I chose it because it was one of the few legendaries that look good to me and I am very happy with it.

Exotics are still perfectly fine for most content, honestly. Even more so from a cost-to-performance standpoint.

But make no mistake, legends are FAR more expensive than ascendeds all things considering, and not just due to precursors. It’s a lot of work for a single skin.

so essentially you have multiple ascended weapons in one.

That was a recent add… I wouldn’t start tossing it around as some sort of profound fact on legendaries.

They should cost more because they are rare and BiS.

Well for starters, as someone said awhile ago “ascended weapon is a poor man’s legendary” :P

Secondly, go for ascended weapon if you want the “stat”, go for legendary weapon if you want the “vanity”.
