Not sure if it was an oversight on patch or not intended to be a feature, but currently, Azurite Crystals aren’t able to be transmuted to Azurite Orbs @ 400 jewelcrafting.

Is there a recipe for this as a rare drop from the new dungeon or is this not currently possible?

If it is the latter, it would be very nice if we could transmute them using the traditional 5 Incandescent Dust + 2 Crystal recipe that functions for every other type of crystal in the game.

Here’s hoping you guys and gals at ANET add this feature.

Seeing as how Azurite only seems to be obtainable from the ore nodes in the Molten dungeon right now, I’m guessing it will not be added as ANet seems to want Azurite (and Sentinel gear) to be available only for limited time.

Personally I think that’s silly, and I hope that they’re considering adding Sentinel gear and Azurite permanently into the game.

Im going to hold onto my crystals and hope this oversight gets looked into. It would seem like a rather standard jeweler refinement like any other crystal to orb.

I dont think this is temporary. ANET created seperate storage space for “limited time only” resources such as snowflakes. The new Azurite got added to the standard material storage area which leads me to believe they will be permanant.

Except that in the meantime, some people appear to have invested hundreds of gold on the logical assumption that the game’s mechanics – even if inconsistent with other mats – is stable. The inconsistency can be explained by the fact that azurite is temporary. This was confirmed by below article (see link). The article’s contents were never corrected by Anet, and Anet has been known to correct incorrect articles (see article regarding WvW and karma vs cultural armor).

I tried to do a transmogrify on 2 Axurite Crystals today, and only Globs of Ectoplasm came up as a possible addition. When I put the ectos in the slot, the craft button did not light. It didn’t give me the normal you-need-more-of-a-mat indicator either. Has anyone else tried to upgrade the gemstones lately?

you cant upgrade it(atleast not yet) as there is no recipy for upgrading it to the rare version
