In view of the recent back piece craft-able; ie: the Gourmet Chef’s Backpack, I would like to suggest that we be able to craft into our back piece, all back piece, in fact, something that is useful at night.

A sort of a light! So that our back piece will be able to light the way in the dark.

I believe the final version of the Fractals backpiece also sheds light, although since I don’t have one myself I can’t confirm this.

As far as I’ve been able to test, the only back item that works as a light source is Mad Memoires Complete.

So, the OP is correct that there aren’t any currently-craftable back items. There are only a tiny number of non-torch weapons that act as light source and, also aside from torches, I don’t think there are any wielded light sources that work for anyone aside from the character equipping them.

Look a little closer at your list. Jormag’s Breath, the FDS, the Crossing, Cobalt, and Volcanus are also light sources and none are legendaries. They only work for the user, however.

Sorry, I meant that I don’t know of any that act as a light source for other players; I’ve updated my post accordingly. (I’m not sure if the legendaries work for others.)

I’m suddenly having flashbacks to Starbound and its lantern-on-a-stick item. o_O

Which would be really useful for GW2.

Ooh, or maybe something for “Ascended” jewelcrafting: Ascended grade gems (ie, minor stat boost) that has non-combat effects like light radius.

How much does it light up compared to say Mad Memoires, cant find screenshots anywhere. Also didnt know Flameseeker Prophecies has that effect.
