I have two characters that I both a enjoy and use frequently, an Asura Mesmer and a Sylvari Necromancer. I want to go for a legendary but I’m not sure which one I should go for. For my mesmer I would go for the Bifrost, and for my Necromancer I would go for Howler.

What would you guys do? Keep in mind that the Bifrost costs around 1300 gold to make from scratch while Howler is more around 800, mostly due to precurser price differences.
Either would be amazing, so tell me which you’d go for and why.

Get Bifrost. Later on they plan to make legendaries accountbound so you can share their use on all your toons. If you get a staff both of them can use it in the future.

I wouldn’t base my decision off of arbitrary rumors.

Howler, Mesmers are slowly getting nerfed to an unplayable state (unless all you like to do is use TW, feedback and signet, and then go AFK)

I enjoy howler very much on my warrior, sadly ranger and necro have a bit better skills with it but its effects are still nice.

My bet would be to make howler even if i was a bifrost owner. Howler is greatly cheaper to make so buyers remorse, after any arbitrary rumors of a scavenger hunt are fulfilled, will be much less.

Howler, Zenith spire looks alot prettier than the pineapple staff :P

Howler. Isn’t it natural for a Necromancer to have a chilly aura? Not to mention, Howler is the coolest looking warhorn in the game!

You guys seem to be leaning towards Howler, which is great since that means less mindless CoF for me!

And yes Howler is probably the only actually cool warhorn skin in the game save from a few of the dungeon token warhorns.

A legendary on an asura is a waste, sorry. It is so tiny, most ppl won’t even notice. Otherwise, I would make Bifrost. And the argument about mesmer ‘slowly getting nerfed and unplayable’. I rarley read such crap, just go for it, they will be playable in the next 10 years…

No offense, but if you get a legendary to brag to other people… Wow.

A legendary should be a long term goal and making it should give you some sort of completionist feeling

I see where you’re coming from, but the crafting of a legendary is pretty much solely to show off. The only benefit you get from it is cosmetic, so by definition the purpose is to show off (or brag as you put it).

Don’t be so quick to judge people based on their motivation. Nothing wrong with wanting to brag about something that took a lot of time/effort to accomplish.

Bifrost is my vote!

Nothing wrong with making legendaries for asuras. I got Kudzu on my asura ranger and Sunrise on my asura guard. I agree if you are making a legendary purely to show off, then you hopped on the train too late cause everyone has a legendary. If you are making for the satisfaction or boredom, then grats. And as for people not seeing it, even as asura, you cant miss Sunrise on me or Kudzu on my ranger. Play what race you like and make what you like, not like making a legendary takes much skill or effort like endgame gear from MMOs with 40 man raids that did take a lot of effort and skill from 40 people.

Well I make frostfang to look cool, howler to go with frostfang as it matches perfectly, the moot because of the lackluster options in maces for this game, kamoholi because of shark week.
Next I am making another frostfang, and this one is purely to show off dual frosties, I am losing touch i suppose.

how can you make so many? i am struggling to make even my first legendary

oh by the way I decided to main ele and just get meteorlogicus instead, but thanks for the suggestions!
