Aurora Glade ~ Army of Forgotten Souls miniguild [AoFS]

Hi.
I’ve got a question regarding hoarding skill points, I need them 200 (the sooner the better, but normal tempo will suffice), and I can’t decide which way is better.
I have an engineer for whom I am doing it with 100% map completion and 76 skill points at the moment which are more or less left after getting over with the clovers (pfft, blew over 250 SPs…).
I was thinking that by the time I will finish 500 badges of honor I will have enough karma and SP to give around, but (luckily!) I have hit a good commander and a week and managed to get those before the SP.
Now I am torn between just grinding it out on the above mentioned engineer; and my husband’s idea of leveling a new toon purely for the purpose of the SP farm with spending 0 SP and hoarding the 200 from levels and SP challenges.
Which way do you think is quicker and more comfortable?
I do events in WvW. The XP is pretty incredible, and I get loads of skillpoints without really trying.
I think the bigger question is, “Which method for getting XP will be least likely to make me hate turning my computer on.” Out of all the Legendary components, skillpoints will be the least of your problems. After you’ve gotten all the other stuff you’ll easily have 200 SP, as long as you don’t spend them and don’t play lots of alts all the time. I try to informally budget my time from playing 1 main & hoarding SP for the Bloodstone and dabbling on alts & using their SP for the Clover combine.
FoTM 26+ gives you relics which you can buy skill points almost 3 per run. But just play how you like you will get there

Actually, besides few Karma left which will be covered once I finish off the monthly, the SP is the only thing I have left.
I have decided to get my 30ish mesmer to 80, she’s got main skills covered including her elites and can spare the points. I have always wanted her to be 80, so I’ll cover two things in one go.
Cheers though.
For fast skill points:
- CoF p1 farming = a good chunk 60% of your level when @lv80
- FotM = buy Skillpoints with FotM relics.
That’s it, 200 in no time.
For 3 first legendaries, I made new toon and burnt those 200 sp from new toon. Clovers I made from my “main’s” skill points and from the extra I managed to gather with those toons that had hit 80 beforehand. For my 4th legendary I am also using new toon but for 5th and 6th I’m forced to “grind” skill points. Why? Well, I’ve already 8×80ies and I’m not really fond of idea of leveling up my mules or spvp characters…
Doing 5 fast dungeons a day gives steady progress. Cof1, Se1, Se3, Ta FF, Ta Up (Ac1, Ac3) are fast dungeon paths that can be done under 15 minutes each resulting stable income of skillpoints.
You might also want to concider crafting, in case your toon doesn’t have maxed out crafts. It’s bit expensive do armors/weapons mut JC and cooking are cheap and fast 20 sp in case you haven’t leveled them up. You’ll get levels and skillpoints even when you’re 80.
Anyway; If you don’t have all classes maxed out, I suggest doing “new toon” for bloodstone shard. It’s faster to go trough 150-170 skill challenges after hitting lv 65 than grind those 124 skillpoints by leveling.

only do new toons if SP’s are the only thing you need, really by the time you have to required gold you will be done with the skill points as well. But again if you have everything else then there are a few things to do to get them quickly, without an alt.
-WvW, obvious choice.
-Mastering every other crafting you don’t have already. Like my main if I ever am in dire need of skills points could master the other 6 crafts gaining 60 points for a fairly low amount of coin.
-Running this dungeon pattern, Cof P1-1-2, then CoE 1-3, repeat. CoE is really an easy dungeon and the combination a paths 1 and 3 gives you the most dungeon chests (core/lode drops) and can be completed in about 25 min. probably the most time consuming be you make coin and get levels fairly quick.
Otherwise starting an alt can net a quick 200 SP but you cannot transfer the blood stone to you main and will have to make the gift of mastery on the alt then send it back. So I suppose it depends on how fast you want it and whether or not you want the whole craft of your legendary to be on 1 toon.

Ow, I didn’t realize it’s soulbound; kinda thought it’s account bound as most of the other legendary components. But since the Gift is account bound, it shouldn’t pose a problem, I suppose.
I guess I’ll do the alt, I don’t have time in the day to run dungeons (time as in more than 5-10 minutes in a go), them kids are pretty problematic if I ignore them for a game :P
Thanks for the tips guys.
alt character is probably faster… I would put at least 4 crafting on it right away.
chef, jewel, artifacts + (profession for gifts) that will give u about lv 40+
and start getting sp and probably use this new toons to do dailies to get some extra exp
a second 80 that still needs all the skill point locations >.>

I wish I had one
They need to make MF items account bound soon. Its annoying and pointless.
