for 30 minutes
Crafting cost are:
3 Platinum Doubloon

Nice info, thanks for posting this. A little expensive for my taste, but that’s pretty snazzy.
Oddly enough, here are the stats for Furious Tuning Crystal:
+100 Healing
Gain Ferocity equal to 5% of your healing
+10% exp from kills
Recipe:
1 t6 fang
1 sheet of charged ambrite
2 t6 dust
output 5 and account bound
Boon duration on a utility is sexy, but 3 platinum doubloons to craft? That seems pretty crazy.
Not expensive right now, perhaps, but considering how rare they are I don’t think the prices will remain reasonable if these catch on.
Furious Sharpening Stone gives
+100 Toughness
5% of your toughness towards ferocity
+10% exp
1 t6 fang
1 charged sheet of ambrite
1 ori ingot
Bountiful Maintenance Oil:
+100 Precision
10% Boon Duration
10% exp
3 Platinum Doubloon
20 jugs of water
1 Sheet of Charged ambrite
The finished products are account bound? That makes me sad.
What about the recipes to learn these in the first place? Are those account bound?
account bound!?!?! gerrrr!
I read about them in the patch notes and got excited.
but this news… that reduced my desire to have it from “top of the list, hunt for all of them asap” to “use it only because it’s quicker to double-click than right-click and destroy”
Bountiful Tuning Crystal:
+100 Condi Damage
+10% Boon Duration
10% exp
3 Plat Doubloon
1 Sheet of Charged Ambrite
2 t6 dust

The recipes are tradeable, the nourishments are not.
I stocked up on Sheets of Charged Ambrite and PLat Doubloons.
All need a crafting profficiency of 450 btw.
Great! Going to nab the recipes for my collection then.
From a gameplay perspective, the Bountiful consumables could be quite valuable to an Ele or Guardian. Could see it becoming the “meta” for dungeons or WvW. Furious ones probably won’t be as popular since few players run builds that run high Toughness + Critical.

Won’t be “meta” for PvE since +10% outgoing dmg / -10% incoming dmg dungeon potions are always the best choice and the toxic utility consumables with condition duration are better to keep up higher vuln stacks on mobs/bosses.
Open world PvE though, keeping up swiftness and might is everything. Including zerg of the mists. And in WvW, keeping up boons like swiftness, stability, might, regeneration, fury, retaliation and protection as long as possible is big deal.
How do you obtain platinum doubloons?
Same way you get silver doubloons: forging gemstones, looting chests, or from loot bags. Although easier than silver doubloons, they’re not that easy to obtain.
Other than that, you always need at least 3 doubloons to craft your account bound oils, sharpening stones or crystals (output: 5 oils/sharpening stones/crystals).
But I think the real question will be what charged ambrite will do. You can only charge one crystal a day (required component of charged ambrite), which gives you a buff that lasts 30 minutes.
Personally speaking I crafted a large number of oils last night for several of my characters as I think that buff is simply fantastic.

Yeah, right now there is still plenty of charged quartz available from ToT bags. Many people used it with their access ambrite to craft sheets of charged ambrite for profit (10-15s per charged quartz) and level their crafts.
But i expect charged sheets to go up in price, considering that you can make 1g per charged quartz with grow lamps.
You can get 2 1/2 hours of buffs though with 1 charged quartz per day as the output is 5.
I just got the recipe for the furious maintenance oil and it gives vitality and ferocity.
I will definately try it out, as i am on a vit heavy warrior build in wvw (37k hp all buffed up atm, I use it to throw toilet paper at condi ganker squads).

A level 80 char is able to get one?
Yes I do believe so, although Wanze knows a lot more about this than I do.
It’s essentially the last tier doubloon and seem to recall looting it from time to time on my lvl 80 characters, although it’s quite a rare drop.

Mystic Forge from gemstones: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Forge#Universal_upgrades
Chests: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Platinum_Doubloon (the chests at the end of JP, for example) platinum is the highest, so I believe that’s what 80’s do get.
Bags that give platinum doubloons: Medium Miner’s Bag (about 1% chance), Miner’s Sack (about 0.2% chance). There might be others, I’ve only researched about 3/4 of the bags.

I did more than 500 forges today and I can say that it isnt a viable method of getting them, unless they go to a value of silver doubloons at least.
Bags also dont seem to have a decent droprate.
They’re not super common, but I remember that the bags (don’t remember the precise tier) dropped by Pirates in Bloodtide Coast give out Platinum Doubloons. You can also transmorgrify Gold Doubloons into Platinum ones, which will probably boost demand for them since there are so few uses for Gold Doubloons.
Hey Wanze, can you just confirm for me that the ingredients for Furious Maintenance Oil are:
20 Jug of Water
1 Vicious Fang
1 Sheet of Charged Ambrite
I’m guessing that’s what it would be based on the ingredients of the other Furious consumables, but want to be 100% sure.

Platinum Doubloons are not transmogrified from Gold Doubloons.
The only Doubloons that can be transmogrified are Gold from Silver.
Attached the recipe for the oil. Apparantly, im short on water.
(edited by Wanze.8410)
Huh. I could have SWORN that you could transmorgrify Gold → Platinum. Seems weird that the ONLY transmorgrification recipe for Doubloons is the one from the most expensive variant to one of the least desired. :P
Anyway, thanks for the recipe clarification.
So disappointed that these are account bound.
They probably will not ever be meta due to the expense of leveling crafting, the expensive recipe, and the expensive cost of crafting. Plus Platinum Doubloons, wtf?
What a waste. If anything the recipe should be account bound and the output sellable (which would make the SW a desirable area for a long time).
Was anybody else hoping that these would be the long awaited bloodstone/empyreal/dark matter sink?
Dark Matter can be indirectly turned into gold by crafting Ascended inscriptions/insignia and selling those. (Purchase the Deldrimor/Damask etc. needed.)

As already mentioned in the post before me, dark matter can already be turned into profit.
Empyrial fragments, bloodstone and dragonite can be turned into tradeable item as well.
