I bought a [Box of Berserker’s Draconic Armor] today on the trading post. When I unpacked it, I got a full set of rare berserker’s gladiator armor — essentially useless. All this money completely wasted.

So I’m sure we can all agree on the fact that a box of “draconic” armor should yield a set of “draconic” armor. Since we can all agree on that fact, we can also determine that this is a bug, plain and simple. Now that we’ve established this is a bug, we can also come to the conclusion that bugs are ANet’s responsibility.

We can all understand that at release, unexpected things can, and are bound, to happen. But since none of the players who have opened the box are to blame for this waste of money, time, and effort.. will we get compensated for this oversight from ANet?

I think you have made a great game here and I enjoy it thoroughly. But between diminishing returns of loots, event rewards, and chests — while being fully decked out in magic find gear/food — it took me days to get the money needed to buy that box. And people, please don’t comment on how slow I was farming money, the fact is that it took me days of effort, patience, and waiting through loot diminishing returns.

I am not alone in this frustration of opening the box. And more people are getting frustrated by this every hour. People selling the boxes also know what they are doing and I don’t believe selling bugged items follow the rules of conduct of the game.

ANet, please reply to this thread to put minds at ease for everyone who has been ripped off by this bug and the people selling them. Can we expect you guys to search through the logs and mail a full set of draconic armor to whoever opened one? Or even do it via the TP by leaving an unbugged box in our pickup tab?

Be sure to fill out a support ticket with Anet. I wouldn’t depend on someone happening to read the right forum thread to get your issue resolved.

I did, in detail, right before posting here — with screenshot attached. But thanks for the tip nonetheless.

I also bought this and got the gladiator set.. And contacted Anet, apparently they cant help getting you draconic armor or your gold back if you bought it. Which is a shame.. 7g down the sink.

If they truly can’t help with this problem, I find it a very big lack of respect towards the users. We obviously can’t control what is generated when the box is double-clicked but it does come with a promise from ANet that a box of draconic armor will yield draconic armor when opened. It is their responsability and it really should be rectified by them. I really wish we could have some input on that from them. Every hour somebody is getting screwed out of days of effort due to this.. and it would be so simple to fix with a simple search of the logs and compensation. I don’t know about you but I have no touched PvE at all since this happened to me. I will not farm twice for what I should already have.

Well chalk me up as another victim of this bug. Filed a support ticket with ANet, and waiting on what I’m sure will be a canned response.

I feel your pain, Archael. Spent a good bit of time farming gold to make the purchase, and now it’s all wasted. Wish I would have found this thread prior to the buy. Still going to cross my fingers with the hope of having the issue resolved, but not going to hold my breath. At the end of the day, ANet has our money for the game purchase, and it’s not as if they’re trying to maintain a subscription by providing excellent customer support. So we’re more then likely screwed at this point. Hopefully I’ll be proven wrong…

Was effected by this bug yesterday as well. Ive posted on forums and filed a bug ticket…but from what my guildies say Anet is going to tell me tough luck. We shall see…i agree that bugs in a game with this depth are going to happen, but to take a stance of not helping those customers that are impacted would be a very poor decision.

I am in the same boat as you Archael. I understand any game will have bugs, but if they take the stance that they can not rectify such an issue and make the customer whole then they are taking a poor approach toward customer service. I have not had any desire to pve or wvw since this happened. Im playing a little spvp but have to say im just not nearly as enthralled with the game as i was 24 hours ago.

I’m in the same boat. If this does not get fixed or addressed or something, I don’t think I’ll be spending as much time as I have been.

As if farming isnt hard enough, and the dungeon and chest loots suck, they have this 30 min rule on farming. So how are gonna farm? You want us to transfer from map to map with a hefty fee on WP. Dungeons are a joke right now. You spend too much for repairs compared to what you earn for running it. I think they want us to use the gem→gold exchange more.
