So I saw on guildhead that an Armorsmith can make boxes of armor that, when opened give you a whole set of armor for a certain stat. Now I’m wonderingif they exist? I’ve been wondering how they could possibly exist in the form they are shown on GW2DB and guild head since both say that you need silk thread for the discovery and you can’t pull silk thread into the discovery window. I tried the mystic forge but you can’t use the inscription in the window so I have no idea how to execute this.

Thanks for your replies.

They do exist, I saw some in Trading post but at very high price.
To use any crafting ingredients you need to have appropriate crafting level, maybe that’s the reason you cannot use some ingredients at the moment.
For example, draconic armor need crafting level 400, also it’s ingredients require that level to be able to use.
You can check the receipts and requirement at http://www.gw2db.com/recipes/armorsmith

I saw a reference to these boxed armor sets in another thread nearer to release. From that thread, it seemed that the boxed armor set crafting recipe comes from a mystic forge recipe. The thread recounted some discrepancy in the cost of the set vs. the cost of making individual items – at the time, the cost of the set was much, much higher than the cost of the individual crafted pieces that it was composed of. There was a red post vowing to bring the costs closer together, as they were intended to be very similar in cost.

The mystic forge recipe to create the boxed set of armor recipe is, from the wiki: elonian wine, crystal, mystic coin, crafted chest of the set you wish to make. The quantities allegedly vary depending on the quality of the set you intend to make.

Don’t make the recipe right now. Don’t make the boxed armor set, either. The material costs are wrong and will be corrected in some future patch.

@Landrief: Does what apply to trays of strawberry cookies? I do not understand what you are asking. Yes, you get recipes for mass production of food via mystic forge. I have no idea what the price comparison is between those recipes and an equivalent number of individual cookies. That is complicated by an additional wrinkle – most food is priced well under production cost on the trading post right now. Additionally, I think these mass-produced foods might be feast-type items instead of just a box of individual cookies (though I am not positive, the descriptions are vague and I haven’t made them myself).

I looked up strawberry cookies and it appears that they provide you with a +healing buff. Unless you know something about healing coefficients that I don’t, I suggest that you buy nearly any other food at all on the trading post for your buff food. Even if you are heavily playing support, you’ll probably get more benefit from vitality or even magic find. I would bet a gold that these are going for much less than strawberries on the trading post, and are thus better to buy than to mass produce.

I make these all the time actually.

Recipe for mystic forge:

Bottle of Elonian Wine – about 25s on the mystic forge vendor
Mystic Coins – Dailies and Trade Post
Crystal – Mystic Forge vendor
Crafted Chest piece – Can’t be random world drop or Karma gear

The 3 top ingredents will vary depending on the quality of the chest piece.

You can find more mystic forge recipe at: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_forge

NOTE: Right now it is not worth the trouble of making Box of _______ because it take double the materials as it would making each separate piece. I hear there is suppose to be a fix though.
