Guild Wars 2

I just got my level 20 elementalist a full crop of new gear. I can’t drop anything in the unused upgrade slots.

I tried adorned jewels, I tried plain jewels, I tried two different sigils in the staff.

maybe I’m just lame and need to be told how to upgrade gear.

The level requirement of the piece of gear must be equal or greater than the level requirement of the upgrade item and adorned jewels only work on trinkets.

They don’t drop, you have to double click them, then apply them to the item.
