Hello there Arenanet,
It has come to my attention that crafting the infused backpieces is currently a mayor waste of ressources and in one case even totally in vain.
Let me just list some numbers to make it more obvious.
For any infused Backpiece I need at least:
Books/Quivers (infused = +5 agony res basic stat)
- 250 T6 Material
- 50 + 250 ectos
- 500 fractal relics
(I wont mention the random drops bcs they are easy to obtain just by grinding for the 500 fractal relics)
-> +5 agony res = 250 T6 material + 300 ectos?
Currently 300 ectos mean ~110g… so u expect me to invest more or less 200g for +5 agony res?
Now lets discuss the (currently totally useless) infused Fractal Capacitor which does not only take the waste of gold to a whole new level but also the waste of fractal relics.
Infused Beta(!) Fractal Capacitor requires:
- 1850 relics for the basic version with slot
- to make it infused + another 500 relics and +250 ectos (I wont mention the random drops again bcs after getting that much relics you should definetly have them by now)
-> 2350 relics and 250 ectos in total for +5 agony res?
And now what confuses me most: The FRACTAL CAPACITOR (infused) <- not Beta
- another 250 ectos + 500 relics for… um… nothing? The same +5 agony res the Beta Version already has? So u want me to grind 2850 relics and 500 ectos for a glowing item with + 5 agony res?
I know its hard to make some changes in an already running system bcs there will be always people who cry afterwards that they invested so much and are uncomfortable with the idea to adjust the requirements for the items they worked so hard on BUT at least in the last case of the Fractal Capacitor there is an obvious need for a change. There is no logic or reason behind the idea of this item; it gives the same amount of agony res like the beta version and you pay 500 relics + 250 ectos for “glowing”?
So my question is simple:
Are there any plans to change smth. regarding the requirements for those items or should I come in terms with the idea of never getting any of those items bcs I will never invest 200g for +5 agony res?

Short version no do not expect a change. People invested massive time and money for legendary weapons even when they had the same exact stats as exotics. Just because of the skin. Same situation here if you don’t want the skin glowing then don’t make period. Most now want it because it glows if it didn’t they would just stick to the book or quiver looking like 50% of the current population now.
I personally don’t care about the look. I want to know if there will be any infused backs with +Healing Power
The requirements are totally insane for being just asceneded. I dont want to see requirements for a legendary back item if these are already that insane.
I’d say it is possible that ascended items costs will be revised:
ascended items are ridiculous, hopefully when they add accessories, amulets, weapons and armor they reconsider the amount of grind and rng to gain them because if you don’t start working on them soon, you’ll be in for a ride in trying to get an ascended set, this is just another reason why people never wanted ascended changing stats in the first place. If it was cosmetic I’d have no problem with it and more than welcome it.
I am fine with them giving better stats. But they shouldnt be over 10 times as expensive as the previous tier.
I think a doubling in costs each tier with the exception of legendary looks fine.
The main thing is Ascended is supposed to be the new Legendary this is why now all Legendary items have been changed to reflect these stats. So the new items being implemented into the game should be considered the same thing. How many casual players have Legendary weapons. Now if they wanted to cater to all then make exotic versions craftable and leave ascended to what it was meant to be as the best and not easily replaced. You won’t see a casual player craft multiple Legendaries just to put some on alts. But people want multiple fully crafted back slots on there alts seriously give it a rest. Invest in your character and make it unique. Only 3 new visual looking items so far minus weapons. How long until everyone is wearing 1 of these 3 with the current rate of mats. I’d say not 1 month or 2 till everyone and there momma is wearing it. So you want to lower it to the point where everyone there momma and alts of there mommas have it to? Come on leave the care bear approach to WoW.
GW was always 1 of the more difficult to play not because of gear it was because of skill. FotM is a little renkdink dungeon that is nothing compaired to the higher end zones in all expansions in GW1.
How about if they changed requirements to taking away the T6 mats and making you need the realivant Vials or Globs x 5 or 10. That would actually keep you in a more bottle necked area. Everyone would use MF gear and progression would become alot slower. Not to mention it would force you to do only FotM to get what you needed.
