Cryptic title, eh?

Can a player that doesn’t do PvP (inc WvW) or dungeons acquire the materials to craft a legendary? Or are there components that require you to do either/both of these things?

At the moment, I have a load of Bubble Baubles, and I’m wondering if I should trade them for Obsidian Shards, Crystals, and/or Phil. Stones, which in my limited knowledge have some utility towards legendaries. I may or may not ever be able to acquire account/soulbound dungeon-only or PvP/WvW stuff, so I don’t want to completely waste them on stuff I may not be able to use (would probably save them until next SAB installment, instead).

You will requie tokens from dungeons to buy a gift from 1 dungeon depending on which legendary. You need 500 tokens in all.

You also need 500 badges of honor fron WvW mostly. You can mostly get these from defeating players or fro the jumping puzzle or map completion.

You can work around PvP in the WvW requirement by doing jump puzzles. I did this and stocked up tokens rather quickly without much of a time investment. Before I knew it I was done.

Before you start working on some legendary, pick one. Then use the wiki page on it to guide you on what specifically is needed.

there is a way that you don’t need to kill players or do JP in WvW to get badges in TA you can do story and badges can drop. but however you need to complete the map in WvW in order to get gift of exploration.

Thanks much for the info and clarification, guys. I did peruse the wiki entry but was wanting to determine if there was a side-street around the bits I normally don’t care for (WvW—JPs are a more palatable option) or have logistical issues with (dungeons—unfortunately, looks like a necessary semi-grind for this toy). Well, maybe still, if the stars line up just right….

you need at about 500 obsidian shards(1.0525m karma ) , 150+ skill points
gift from dungeon(500 dungeon token) , 1 gift of mastery(500 badges)

these are those you can’t skip in making of legendaries , even they didn’t cost single gold
