Guild Wars 2

I’ve heard from a friend it isn’t possible any more due to a change to crafting xp, but he wasn’t sure, and I can’t find anything about it on google. Just curious if anyone has done this recently?

Sure …if you are sitting on enough gold and don’t mind sitting around poking at GW2 while doing something else.

For 5-8g you can lvl up 3 crafts and get lvl 37 rlly easy. (Jewel/cook/artificer)
For 18-23g you can lvl 5 crafts and get lvl 57 but you need to know what you are doing. (J/C/A/leather/tailor).
You can go for lvl 80 with all craft, but going for armor/weapons/hunt will be rlly expensive.

Crafting experience has not changed.
