Celestial Gossamer error in Discovery
You can’t discover celestial armor/weapons. You must buy the recipes from the TP.
You use the insignia to make the armor, but you can’t discover the armor. You must buy the armor recipe (one for each piece) off the TP. Let me forewarn you, they are not cheap.
EDIT: Someone deleted a post above me that I was replying to.
Since when? It’s nothing but an exotic armor, not ascended.
Even GW2 Wikia is showing 2 components + the insignia for the pattern

Since Celestial armor was introduced to the game in Bazaar of the Four Winds.
Those are the recipes but you still have to unlock them with recipe sheets.
Same for weapons.
Any crafting recipe that has a recipe item you must obtain has to be leard through that recipe item alone. No discovery. It’s always been that way from the ones you get at karma vendors, profession specific crafting vendors, the BL, or rng.
Its rather remiss that there is no indication in game that Celestial crafting operates any different to the other varieties in how the patterns are learned. I planned out my levelling of Armorsmithing not knowing this and its left me with bags full of part that I cant use, a stack of Insignias which I cant use and no mats left with which to make alternate Insignias.
No I have to either sell or my crafted parts at a major loss of gold and by replacement mats or spend even more gold on recipes that will give me a very small amount of progression.
Now sure, if I had checked a guide I probably would have known this was going to happen but expecting players to have to look up third party guides to use and understand a games crafting system is just bad game design. Intuitively anyone who had been levelling a crafting profession would be expecting Celestial patterns to function the same way. At the very least there should be some kind of warning. Most players don’t use guides.
