Celestial gear and magic find removal
We don’t know yet, though many of us have the same question as you asked.
It is being reported by a dev that MF will simply be removed from celestial gear with nothing added.

That would kind of suck frankly. Here’s hoping they have a better solution.
Celestial Gear has more stat points than any other gear set. For example, an Exotic chest piece has 101 main stat and 72 of two secondary stats for a total of 245 stat points. A Celestial chest piece has 45 of each main stat (Power, Precision, Toughness, Vitality, Condition Damage, & Healing Power) for a total of 270 stat points. Plus it also has Critical Damage as an additional bonus.
Losing Magic Find still leaves Celestial gear as the number one in overall number of stat points byt a pretty large margin.
That isn’t the point. The point is we worked hard to get that gear understanding it to be at a certain itemization level. Removing that stat without increasing the other stats is patently unfair. I want my time/money back if they do this.

You never discovered any celestial gear in the first place – everything came from a recipe. Recipes are not reset, only discoveries.
So lets see if I get this strait. Not including magic find.
Standard exotic gear gives you three stats boosted while leaving four with nothing.
Celestial gives you all seven stats boosted and none without a boost.
Yet you are complaining they are removing plus to magic find from the gear? It’s not like they are removing it from the game your toon will still have it. And for that matter will be able to get a perma 300%. Why all the complaining?

They’ve got an higher crit damage cause the whole crit damage function is multiplicative, so you’re already losing a lot with the minor increase on power and precision compared to berserkers.

Yes and no. Small levels of condition damage tend to add very little and do not encourage you at all to use damaging conditions. Healing scales very poorly, so once again low levels are weak. The vitality and toughness are nice, though, if you are taking hits.
Of course the magic find was the part that many people bought the gear for, or was the tipping point. If it is completely removed and nothing given back (did Anet think the old Celestial gear, which barely anyone uses, was over-budget?), then full refunds need to be offered.

Have you ever even done the MATH on those Stats???
On the Triple, most of them gain something called “Exponential Reward” because they can literally break the Risk mechanics of the game when they approach a certain threshold. (Berserker’s especially). And guess what Magic find was on Celestial @ 3% per piece… It was the PRIMARY STAT. It’s the entire reason that Celestial is regarded as mediocre at best and most Elite players *(which you obviously are not) strongly recommended against it b/c half of the stats aren’t even helpful in 95% of end-game content. Removing the Primary stat from any gear with no compensation for it at all is completely insane.
I’m pretty sure the higher crit damage and stat points offered from Celestial vs. even Zerker gear is it’s own selling point and not just MF.
NOPE…. now maybe it would be if Anet shifted the MF% towards Precision & Boon Duration (longer lasting Fury). But they’re not doing that now, are they?
It also doesn’t help that the majority of Classes have really sub-par Trait “Procs” when they crit or just have really limited access and “Forced” builds in order to utilize them.

I agree completely here. The magic find WAS the tipping point for me on the celestial type gear as I liked most of the stats but figured “eh why not. the stats are strong and I don’t have to feel bad about using this magic find actually”. I recently bought the laurel celestial rings on my guardian as well. 70 laurels is a LOT honestly. I’ll feel very ripped off to have those stats gone.
Sure, celestial still gives to every other stat, but it doesn’t change the fact that the items are being nerfed in a way that feels significant to the owners of the gear. 300% account wide magic find still doesn’t change the fact that all items with celestial gear will be comparatively weaker and less valuable.
P.S. I think a proper fix would be to simply add a VERY SMALL amount of boon duration for example.
I stopped using real money on the game long ago, and now I have yet one more reason to never spend money here. I had celestial everything and while I appreciate the account wide MF from salvaging, there was considerable investment in TIME GATED materials to obtain that stuff.
To remove one very useful stat is just crapping on players, and I agree about the boon duration. Even just a couple of percent per item would help. After all, every other bit of MF gear was given a choice for a replacement stat. But, these people don’t listen and don’t care, so I’m not at all hopeful on this issue.
