I have around 400 champ boxes unopened if i open it when asend tier comes will i get asend mats?

Don’t take it as truth, but I’ll wager yes. Reason being, the contents of the boxes aren’t determined until opening as stated by a dev regarding level of items dropped and if they were saved from lower levels. That being the case, the table for items obtained from the boxes will change but the item code itself will not. Likely they’ll just update the loot table, and you should get your mats.

unless they make the champs after the patch drop a new type of box(code wise) meaning that saving them will do you nothing but right now all is speculations

Wouldn’t boxes with tier 7 be purple instead of orange though? I’m saving my boxes solely because I want to play with the whole essence of luck thing and not just sell / forge the bazillion greens i’m clearly getting from them, but I’m not holding my breath on ’there’s going to be new crafting materials in them’.

That’s pretty much what I"m doing too. Getting the new MF stat max as fast as possible couldn’t hurt. Picking up a few of the new crafting mats right away would be a nice bonus though.

I am also saving it for the MF salvage spam. If it drops ascended mats, that will just be a plus for me.

Some how, I think they are going to make it so that this doesn’t work, but it is certainly worth trying.

Or they made the invasions, knowing people would stock up on boxes once the news came out that champ boxes would drop those mats needed for ascended weapons. So people could have a head start. We could stock up on Crystals during the previous LS too.

But that’s not why I’m collecting them. I found it was faster to just not open them and leave them in my bag between invasions… If they drop that ascending material, oh well, from what I’ve seen there will be slots for them in my material storage. I won’t be crafting any ascended weapon any time soon…

Like I said, it is most definitely worth trying. However, if it doesn’t work I won’t be shocked.

Container rarity doesn’t have anything to do with tier level of the contents.

could be. the actual chest you loot contains “champ box” and, usually, some other item like piece of armor or crafting material.
