For those who are still crafting exotics to level to 500. I created a short script to query gw2spidy and here is the result (Cheapest to most expensive):

Note: gw2spidy allocates the discipline to tailor you can ignore it. The result can vary at different times, even though not by much.

For those craftable insignia, even though my script checked the crafting cost vs the cost to buy it from the TP instantly, crafting is still the cheaper way to obtain them, unless you put in buy orders.

Cost of acquiring any needed recipes are not included.

What do you mean? For crafting exotics, you only need the ectos to craft the insignia (except Giver’s which uses snowflakes instead) which is already included in the crafting cost for the insignia. If you are buying the insignia, however, you don’t need anymore ectos to craft the exotic.

Thats only the case for inscriptions, not insignias.
