I’ve spent the last 2 days porting across the face of Tyria trying to find bandits/pirates/centuars/seperatists/svanir/dredge that drop bags that actually have chocolate bars in them but no dice. Not one bar.

Where are people getting them from now?

Now? I haven’t been able to get them from anywhere other than the Trading Post for months! Okay, that’s a bit of hyperbole, but I do find my constant shortage of chocolate bars quite frustrating. And to answer your specific question, I don’t have any idea where people get these things in any worthwhile quantity.

Finally got 3 bars out of a bag from Dredge in the north east Lornar’s pass.

And of course plenty of butter.

Yup I remember there used to be plenty of chocolate and butter. Then Anet wiped the smile off my face real fast when they fixed that little problem when I decided to level cooking.

As for your Choco needs check out the pirates in Bloodtide coast. They drop Sack(s) of Booty which contains chocolate, Various materials and Oranges.

OFC your not needing the Mats or oranges , who knows maybe you are or not, but they seem to drop at a moderate rate with no promise of chocolate but, from personal experience, I’ve had my fair share of chocolate.

I’ve also got them from the jetsam pirates in Lornar’s pass.

I get them quite a bit from loot bags from Bandits, Dredge and (to a lesser extent) Centaurs and Skritt in the 15 – 30 level range. Look for Small or Light bags.

Yeah I had spent a while trolling through Kessex and Snowden looking; but I think the RNG was just hating me if they dropped from those goups..

And actually I’ve got a couple alts I would not mind parking in Bloodtide to level+farm mats (I have a couple boon based alts that chocolate oranges go well on) ; I’ve noticed thanks to Southsun a lot of other zones are building up xp bonuses. Just wish there were more people there; it gets boring being in an empty zone.

In an attempt to see if I can get Silver Doubloons, I found the Light Bag of Booty from pirates in Gendarran Fields gave a decent amount of chocolate and butter. More chocolate than butter. No doubloons though but that was only around 30 bags.
