Confirmation of Legendary Base Weapon?

Answer: Yes four 80s can work. They changed it so the lower levels don’t work.
I think it’s 75-80 works, but not sure. I only use 80 and salvage the rest for Ecto.
Is there no other way to get the base weapon i.e maybe dropping in a high level area of the map?
Some people reported getting them from doing dungeons off mobs and off mobs in the cursed shore.
I personally saw 2 people getting them from Temple Events:
I saw someone getting The Legend at Malendru event from the chest and someone getting Dawn or Dusk at from the “Take the gates of Arah” end chest.
They nerfed the rate on up-tiering items in the Mystic Forge, though, so unless you got your exploiting in and made thousands of gold or dozens of precursors, don’t ever expect to get one.

Really? You mean they removed the bug where specific items that were too low a level popped them out with a large chance that was obviously a bug?

No, that’s not what I’m talking about at all. Yes, they also fixed the low level Godskull weapons exploit.
In addition to the fix for that exploit, they additionally stealth nerfed the chance to up-tier weapons in the Mystic Forge (by a LOT) using the legitimate method (i.e., level 80 rares to exotic).

Given that this is the first time I’ve heard about this (and good lord, do people LOVE to complain about stealth nerfs because obviously ANet is evil and doesn’t want us to enjoy it’s game), I’m taking it with a grain of salt.
