How should I be making money as a cook through crafting?
I looked at this page http://www.gw2spidy.com/crafting/8?sort_profit=desc but I am not sure how to get the recipes for the items that are listed as most profitable..
Any tips for a noob?

Pot and Feast Recipes are either available for gold on the TP or you can forge the recipes yourself in the mystic forge.
