I just recently found out about these. Are they similar to the feasts from WoW in that they spawn a thing for people to click and get a buff or is it just a way to create several food items at once. Is there any reason to use these?

Yes, it spawns an item on the ground that everyone can click on. I’ve seen it used in WvW and in for Cursed Shore karma farming.

Some people enjoy being generous. Or, if you have a large enough group of people, it could be cost efficient.
