I was thinking of making a new character and leveling them to 80 just with crafting, has anyone done this recently who can tell me how much it cost them?

Out of curiosity, which are the cheapest & easiest crafts to get 1-400?

I’ve done cooking in a single go once and it was pretty inexpensive (2g + what was in my bank at the time).

Just did 1-300 JC and that was pretty cheap, though I hear 300-400 gets pricey with all the mythril needed.

Artificing was fast & easy but dust prices tend to make buying all the mats on the TP pricey. I’m not rich. Got about 14g total across all toons.

Any others you recommend?

I Hate levelng. I have 4 80s and Only 1 was leveled the normal way. . Leveling Another char atm but this time i will try to make it cheap..

Those 3 are the cheapest and then the rest are pretty much all the same in costs. .

If you are like me and just want your character to 80 for WVW then i suggest you do all crafts and get to 80.. or you run some AC explorable runs for the tokens xp and Gold.. depends on your Money and on how much materials you got in bank.. i bought all mats for armorsmith today and it got to about 7g, but i had alot of stuff + i will get Money back from the yellows. ..

Yea I don’t have much money so I need to keep the costs down as much as possible. Only 400 I have on any toon is Cooking. I don’t have any 80’s yet and those t6 mats are just too pricey to buy. So most of my crafts hover around 250-300.

I just finished World Completion last week, as part of Legendary. I then needed to get WvWvW badges, and so started two Asura Alts for jumping puzzles. The Legendary needs Tailoring and Weaponsmiting at 400, and I was able to level each Alt to 400 in one of those pretty much with what I had gathered during World Completion and from 3 months of Dailies, in the process getting them to level 15 with about 11 skill points each (important for Clovers).

I’m now leveling both of them and another Alt to 400 in Cooking to get extra SP for clovers (I’m 15-20 short). This has cost about 2G each.

In addition, my main is at 300 Armorsmithing, and has been leveling it on and off since launch. Since I only work on it when I have the mats, it’s been free by and large. The last 100 point would cost about 2G – I still have around 250 mithril ore and 250 bolts of silk. I’m going to leave it until Legendary is done.

I guess the point of this post is to say that the cost of crafting depends on when you start. If you’re doing it as part of Legendary, I’d leave it until World Completion is finished.

Yeah, when doing Legendary you can use the mats you find during World Completion to level the crafts required, without sacrificing any of the T6 mats you’ll need to complete other Gifts.
