Crafted Vital Infusions
It’s not as expensive for a precise infusion (because claws are something like 15s less), but it’s the same concept.
+5 precision is very unlikely to boost your crit chance by another percent.
And yet, I spent the money to get one. And put it on the first ring I had drop. Which I’m not using anymore (because I got better ascended rings). And I know now the precise infusion would be lost anyway if I infused the ring itself.
tl;dr: In most cases, it’s probably a better idea to spend fractal relics on plain agony resistance infusions, instead of spending a ludicrous amount of money for a mostly negligible stat increase on top of your agony resistance.
What you are saying is exactly why I did Vital Infusions. I figured that damage is so random that +15 Power or +15 Precision wouldn’t make much of a difference. Like you said the +15 Precision would give you about 1% which is almost useless. +15 Power wouldn’t make much difference since I’m already a Crit/Prec build mostly.
Figured the best thing for my character would be to get a little more HP. I know 150 isn’t much, but the next time I escape a situation with 150 or less HP I will know that it was all worth it.
well, in the end when we have 12(13, if we are to have an ascended breathing device) ascended infusion slots to fill(armor + accessories. i doubt weapons will get them), 60 extra stats will make more than just a minor impact, considering that every 21 points in precision at 80 = +1 crit chance.
really, though, it’s just a gold sink for those min maxers who must have the best of the best.
for a casual, the infusions from laurels will net you 48 extra stats, which costs no gold at all. the choice is really up to you if you want to spend 20g per infusion.
Don’t really have another use for the gold since I don’t roll alts in MMO’s. Time to start helping guildies get to that Legendary

Pretty much on point.
As for myself, I’ve found many other places to put my gold right now, and the basic infusions are working just fine for me at the moment.
At level 80 it takes 21 points of precision to add 1% of critical chance. (According to wiki)
So the cost of making 3 precise infusions for a 15 point precision bonus just doesn’t seem justified. At least in my mind.
Spending 250 ectos to infuse a backpiece for an additional +5 AR doesn’t seem justified in my mind either.
But if you are independently wealthy.. go for it.
