There’s a rumor that the level 78 Exotic Backpacks have higher stats than a level 80 Exotic Bakcpack if you apply a t5 Jewel to this.

Is this true? Is it intentional? Can anyone confirm?

Its true, its intentional and i can confirm.

The Crafter’s Backpacks have attribute values of 32/18/18.

The best jewels (embellished brilliant) have values of 21/13/13.

Current exotics are 22/16/16 with an exquisite jewel of 25/15/15

Total for Crafter’s is 53/31/31 vs 47/31/31 for current exotics.

Not a whole lot more, but you also get an infusion slot which is good for another +4, or +5 for the WvW version to the attribute of the infusion.
