Creating our own stat combos.
Interesting idea in general but pretty hard to implement now with all the isignias and inscriptions floating around.
It might still be possible to implement for ascended jeweling, though.
First slot should require 2 Jewels though, the minor stats 2.
Also Boon and Condition Duration shouldnt be able to be a major stat for balance reasons, same with crit damage, maybe.
And we would need a solution for celestial gear or trinkets that have 4 different stats.

I like this idea. It gives more freedom to the player to choose how they want to play.

No transmutation stone means less profit for ANet. So this is not going to happen.
What Anet can do is release a stone like transmutation stone at a reasonable price that allow us to change the stats of a gear. Or even select the stat distribution we want. This will benefit both players and give Anet incentive.

This is the current problem. The way the game functions shouldn’t be so heavily tied into the gem store and players really need to stop telling them to put things into the gem store that should be implemented in the game. There’s a ton of other things they have and can put into the store that makes NCSOFT money. Also you wouldn’t actually need to get rid of Transmutation stones if you went with this idea because if you crafted let’s say ascended armor but you hated the way it looks, you would still need the stones to change skins. The problem with the Transmutation Stones is that there’s 2 different stones when there should only be 1 that covers all levels. Personally I think the idea is something that should be implemented or something similar.

Do you have any idea how much this game relies on the TP already? It’s easier and less time consuming to farm gold to buy what you need off the TP than it is to just go do it yourself.
For celestial stats, you could simply have white jewel that give you 1/3 of the stats celestial give you right now. So if you put 3 White Jewel you have celestial gear.
And this would not be 100% lose for Anet : If the only way to get back your Jewel is with the Extractor from the Gem Store? If someone don’t use a gear anymore and want to get back his Berserker Jewel to put on another gear.

the difficulty is the freedom. tough/vita/heal is too bunker. what could kill him or what should kill the user?
some stat combinations good be too strong. thats the reason why devs take so long to discuss which amuletts with stats could be cool for pvp.
long time ago where the acended weapons were announced i thought crafting new weapons would be like this xD

Anet likes it the way it is because they can slowly release new stat combos over a great period of time — giving the illusion that they’re improving the game.
IMO tying stats to gear and trait lines was a huge mistake.
