With all the other crafting professions having ascended items added to them (but chef trade), why hasn’t Jeweler been bump up too?

When ascended items that could be crafted was introduced they did so almost back to back, First weapons then armor but as of yet Jeweler has seen no love.

Personally I think Jeweler ascended crafting should have been introduced when ascended armor was introduced.

Kill stuff to unlock weapons skills, most confusing thing I ever heard of. (sarcasm)

because everyone has bank tabs full of ascended trinkets and want ways to get rid of them, not ways to get more of them. They are way too generous with how many ascended trinkets they throw at you. Jeweler 500 would need to add things that aren’t already for sale from laurel vendors. Maybe ascended sockets and interesting infusions?

Please speak for yourself. I have no ascended accessories on seven of of eight lvl 80 characters, and most don’t have the zerker ascended rings I’d like to give them. Not everyone loves fractals, and many don’t do guild missions. Moreover, ascended jewelcrafting could add effects similar to the Halloween trinkets. I would welcome it!

There are a few stat combinations you can’t get from laurel vendors like power/vit/cond dmg (although that is available as an achievement reward through unlocking every armor and weapon skin in CoF/SE). Craftable infusions would also be nice.

If jewelry could be crafted with non-standard effects, that could work. For example, an ascended berserker trinket may proc a 3 sec vuln on hit with a 10 sec cd. The individual boon or condition should be very small so that even with five trinkets offense of defense boosts are just barely noticeable.

Crafted ascended jewelry should not compete with laurel, fractal, or dropped but needs to be roughly equal in benefit.

I like

I do have about 100 ascended rings from fractals. But I also have about 15 or so ascended trinkets I got as rewards for stuff like LS achievements. I would say it’s an equal distribution of ring/accessory/amulet. So enough to equip 2.5 characters. Not so good for altaholics, but more than adequate for most players. then with laurels, you can get a trinket every ~month. ascended trinkets are just a time gate. If you’re starting out, you won’t have any. But give it time and they will roll in on their own.

Like others have said not everyone does everything that needs to be done to get those ascended items.

Normally I barley finish my daily just to get 1 laurel and every other blue moon I finish my monthly.

For me I only have 2 ascended items (not counting crafting items) a rifle for my Warrior and a longbow for my Ranger and that took me a while to make both since I don’t have the privilege of a lot of free time to grind the game, (work 5-6 days a week 8 hour shift (growing up sucks)).

So Anet not bumping Jeweler up to 500 just because “a lot of players” (more like a few) are over loaded with ascended items bought with laurels isn’t a good reason not to do it.

When Jeweler does get bump up to 500 in the future if you are one of those players over loaded with ascended items in your bank doesn’t mean you have to craft any new items that will take up what precious empty bank tabs you have left .

Yep jewelery 500 and chef 500 seem to be a huge over-site on ANet’s part. Personally I have alts that have both these maxed and they have become the red-headed step children of the crafting professions.

I honestly don’t care what they do, be it a glow for your armor, custom foot falls, etc for jewelery or longer lasting/better food stuff for chef, I for one would just like to make my characters feel more complete.

To me they current increase to the professions just feel like a bandaid approach to how easily the exotics could be gotten and a rush was put in to compensate to give us “busy work”.

If we are to get other things included in the LW episodes to make expansions mute, maybe start by increasing these two professions to 500; although the year we have waited at this point sadly just shows they have no idea what to do with them.

What if L500 food, fed regularly to a L80 character, could transform them into a modification of their original profession?

Warrior → War Lord
Guardian → Spirit Summoner
Thief → Pirate
Ranger → Pack Leader
Engineer → Architect
Elementalist → Aspect Master
Mesmer → Psycho Mage
Necromancer → Dark Priest
