These are account bound ascended items in the collections tab, along with the bloodstone dust, empyreal fragments, and dragonite ores. Although it’s possible these will be used to craft ascended accessories at some point in the future, I’m assuming they will be needed to craft ascended armors.

So the question is, where do we get the crystalline ore?

Bloodstone dust comes from champs/boxes.
Empyreal Fragments come from dungeons/puzzles.
Dragonite ore comes from world bosses.

So where is ANet going to put the Crystalline Ore?

Fractals?
Dynamic Events?
Elite mobs?
WvW?
sPvP?
Salvaged?

gathering? gold, silver, platinum → gems (more likely)

There was a rumors that these would drop from the same source as the dust. That is why those champs bags drop that many. I personally been stocking those champ bags since ascended were leaked in case it was true.

If that is not true I will have tons of item to salvage Having 10 stacks of dust or 3 stacks of bags is a lot more convenient anyway.

Maybe wait till next Tuesday or I don’t know maybe Friday when they will no doubt answer this question?

I seriously think these will be for future Ascended Jewelry, not Armor.

They could be a crafting refinement that uses the current three ascended mats to make.
